Again though - they say bullies are themselves victims. Whether that be because of loneliness or some sort of exposure to domestic or sexual abuse.

Applying more abuse to such people likely won't have a good result.

What's likely needed are individual one-on-one approaches to deal with aberrent behaviour. Naturally that takes a lot of effort (which is why it often doesn't happen).

Since we are free societies we cannot go and tell someone how to raise their child. Therefore, what we can do is teach a bully what the consequences of their actions will be. After all, regardless of their circumstance, what right to they have to inflict it on others.

I know your angle well because this is used to justify bullying and even crime in both Australia and the UK. Where we use the victim card rather than actually punishing the bully or their parent. If someone cannot raise a child then the child should be taken from them and they should no longer have the option to have another child. Why should anyone else or society pay for bad choices or bad parenting? it's bad enough we are usually financially paying for this child. People need to learn what it means to be a responsible adult. They also need to learn the age old concept of consequences for one's actions. Something a growing number of people have clearly forgotten.

Unless a child has actual needs, there is no excuse. Bad parents should be held accountable. Especially if their kids act out and pull a columbine. The dam parents should be thrown into jail if their is enough evidence to show they were negligent in raising their child.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The other thing which has been discussed before is the attitude of "my child does no wrong". I cannot count the number of times that I have heard a teacher say a parent has used this and believed it. Even the parent of a kid known to be a bully.

In engineering terms - your argument amounts to thrashing your car with a tree branch because it won't start, rather than opening the hood to look at the engine.

Watching BY thought process is like watching ice cream melt.

I know. It's hard for little brains to follow along (comprehend).

Cleo you have a good grasp of the English language. Unfortunately for you and certain others, that seems to be all you have.

Empathy isn't hard to understand. Some people have a different "work" persona to the one they exhibit at home. The same is true of kids at school.

Humans are not cars now are they.

Okeydokey then BY. I'll just keep having fun watching this ice cream.

Okay dokey nothing. Your response is a stereotypical I don't agree with you or understand what you are saying (above your tiny head), therefore, I will throw out the insults and innuendos about you.

Every time you guys have nothing to say a thread ends this way. Be it with me, VW, alienchild, Danno and so on. So I will leave now before it ends up being another one of those threads.

Edit: All is good though. At this point I know you have nothing to say with regards to the topic. So the insults will fly.

You don't do metaphor, do you....

Certainly not dumb ones.

With all due respect - it isn't difficult to understand what you're saying. It just isn't a very incisive or thoughtful argument - given that the toolbox you are using appears to be full of hammers (another metaphor).

I would try answering a question on the topic every now and then rather than worrying about the metaphors.
