9-year old boy attacked by coyote, fights back

A nine-year-old boy from Erie was snowboarding with a friend on a golf course Thursday when a coyote lunged at him and grabbed his arm.

Police said the boy was able to swat the coyote with his snowboard, forcing it to run away.

The boy was taken to Children's Hospital nearby where he was treated and released.

Police notified the Colorado Department of Wildlife, which dispatched officers who tracked down a coyote and killed it.
