Knight here,

My fiance' got her Packet 3 a few days ago with some papers directing her how to get to the London medical examination place, a brief rundown on all the documentation she will need, and that was basically it. None of these documents have any numbering (e.g. IV-18) on the corners of the papers. Nothing is there. At first I thought we might have to download the items all this paperwork was talking about, from the London Embassy website (here:) http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/.../visaforms.html

But the papers Magpie got, there is mention of an interview date - which she was not given - and references to the "IV-18a that was previously sent to you" which, of course, she didn't. I know what she has and doesn't have because I looked over all the papers she does have.

This creates an interesting paradox. It tells her to scrounge up her medical records, police records, Girl Scout merit badges papers, and so on and so forth, but states that "You must bring these with you to the interview. You can't submit them" - and just how the hell is she supposed to bring them to the interview if she doesn't even have an interview date?

We had thought that she was supposed to gather everything and submit it to the Embassy, but again no, it tells us that "Sorry, it's got to be brought with you to the interview."

Did the Embassy forget some other packet between this one and the NOA2 I got?

You probably want to ask this question in the UK Regional forum as they will be more familiar with the process at that Consulate.

alternatively, you can call DOS and ask if an interview date has been set up. (202) 663-1225 Press 1, then Press 0.

good luck
