I have recently applied via USCIS for an OPT program that will supplement my current M1 Visa and allow me to work in the U.S. I have been told that the current wait time for this is 3 months & with no guarantee of success.

My course has finished and am now waiting approval.

USCIS will not allow me travel back to my native country to work while this painfully slow application process goes through the motions and i obviously cannot work here until a decision is made. I have tried to expedite this with them but nobody can give me a guarantee how much time this will save either.

To be honest, the customer service people who work there don't appear to be the smartest.

In light of the above, once an application has been submitted, work is impossible until a conclusion over your application is reached.

Shocking.
