i am unemployed but my husband, the intended immigrant, has a good job with an H1B visa.

on part 6 of the I-864, #23where it asks for my current individual annual income do i put zero here or his income? and then on #24a do i again put his income?

also, do we need to then complete the I-864A?

many thanks as we're getting close to filing.

I'm in the same situation, my wife is unemployed and she's the petitioner. But I work on OPT.

Put 0.00 for your income and that you're employed.

Then on the next page put his income and check the box that says the immigrant doesn't have any dependents and doesn't need to file an i864A. That's it.

Have him file his last few tax returns with yours in the packet.

Thanks for the info. Where/How did you find this out?

And we don't need to file the I-864A either just the I-864?

We have the tax transcripts for the last 3 years and filed jointly the last two years.

Thanks

It's in the instructions. The fact that you file together is great.

He doesn't need the I-864A since he doesn't have any dependents filing with him.

thanks so much for your help as i haven't found clear answers to some of these questions anywhere. especially about filling out part 6 since i'm unemployed.

hopefully this is the last question....so if i check the employed box for myself (sponsor) as you stated above then it asks who my employer is. do i just leave this blank? or did you mean to say 'un'employed?
