I485 "outside of normal processing times" - suggestions

The three year nightmare continues.

My wifes I485 had no activity (no NOA) for more than 180 days. I called NCSC and they found no indication that there was a problem with her application. They forwarded her file to the Memphis Service center (service request status received 2.29.8). They said I would receive information regarding our case status within 45 days.

Today I received an updated service request status and it contained the follwing statement: "Your fingerprints results have been returned as ?unclassifiable? on 2 different occasions. Your i-485 will be pulled and forward to the I-485 adjudication room for process. Thank you. "

I called the NCSC to get a clarification on what this means. She told me to make an appointment via info pass to get an answer to that question.

Does anyone here have an idea about what this may mean? I don't want to spend a day driving to Memphis justt to have them tell us that she needs to be fingerprinted again (this would be the 6th time she has been fingerprinted).

Looking forward to the day that I never have to deal with USCIS again.
