Embassy Review : So I arrived at the Embassy at 7.30am for a 9am interview. There were around 20 people in the queue. I went through security and walked up the steps to reception where i was given ticket 5002. Phew, I was glad I got a low number.
I took a seat in what seemed like Argos. I was disappointed with the inside of the Embassy. I think it could do with some updating or at least some air con.
I was so nervous while sat waiting in that room. All sorts were going through my mind..wot if I failed the medical? Silly really, thinking back!

At 8.45 I was called upto the 1st window & asked for passport, 2 pics, birth cert & copy, police cert & copy, I-134 & tax return (no W2's or 1099's which surprised me as my fiance is self employed). Then I was given a pink slip & told to sit & wait.

Then at 9.45am my number was called & my heart was racing. Eeek this is it!
I was hoping that I didn't get the red head woman I've heard horrid stories about & I was pleased to see a young, smiley man behind the window.
He looked through my papers & then asked lots of questions.

How we met (very detailed as it was thru mutual friends)
When we met
How many times have I been to US
What was the longest time we spent together
How many times have we visited each other
What does he do for a living. Had to go into detail about it.
Where he lives & what the weather is like there
Have I been married before, has he been married before
When did he get divorced
What were the wedding arrangements/ are my family going
Does my fiance like hockey. I said he prefers football & he asked which team he supports.

then he said he was delighted to approve my visa. Please go & pay for the courier! I decided to opt for a b4 8am delivery.

The questions were fired very quickly & I suppose if you answer back quickly, it shows you know each other well.

All in all, although I was nervous, the CO was very pleasant. Like most people say, the worst part is waiting around so make sure you get there early.

I was out of the building for 10.15am.. I went back to the Hilton on Park Lane (as my fiance had treated me to a night there) I went to the steam room & relaxed...heaven!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
