Event Description

Embassy Review : Eben arrived at the consulate at 7:20 for his 9am appointment. There were a lot of people in line so they only let the people with 8am appointments in. He got in at about 8:30. Seems to me that for a 9am appointment there is no reason to get there too early. He rang the bell at window 7 and told them he was there for his interview with Vishan. Vishan called him up and asked him for all of the paperwork and took his fingerprints. Since they were so busy Vishan told him that rather than sitting around waiting he should go over to the mall across the street and have some lunch and come back around 2pm. When he went back he had his interview. They asked how we met and how our relationship progressed and Eben showed them pictures of us together since we originally applied. She said that everything was in order and congratulations. All they still had to do was check his medical and fingerprints. They gave him a slip to give to the DHL desk in the embassy so that they could arrange the return of his passport and visa and he was on his way!
The staff was courteous and friendly and even though he had to wait for a while he said there were no problems and everything went smoothly.
Rating : Good

Local US CIS Office Review: Denver CO

Event Description
Review Date : February 16, 2009
Embassy Review : We had a very good experience! We had our big wedding on the 24th of January and the interview was the 27th. I printed a couple of pictures from the wedding and a couple from last summer. Both had our families in them. I also took our cell phone bill, Bank Statement, Life insurance beneficiary statement, Maternity plan with my new name, Honeymoon itinerary with new name, and passport with new name.
We waited about 30 minutes at the office. The agent was very nice. We aited for her to ask us questions. The first series of questions were just to verify the information on the AOS application. We had used the advance parole so she changed some of the info on the app and then Eben resigned for the changes.
After that she asked what evidence we had of our relationship. I showed her the items above. I also told her that we were leaving the next day to go to Mexico for our honeymoon. She was very kind and told us we were approved and that she would have Eben's passport with the temporary green card stamp that afternoon.
She was glad we had pictures, but also happy we didn't bring more. She said it's great to see a couple, but too many gets monotonous.
All in all a very easy interview and a very pleasant experience!
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
