Comments : San Jose Embassy very helpful. We tracked the petition from NVC to Embassy via DHL and contacted the Embassy the morning after the petition was received.
The Embassy employee pulled Fresy's petition while she was on the phone and scheduled the time for Fresy to pick up her packet 3.
Fresy already had EVERYTHING needed prior to receiving the packet 3 (including the medical and all documents for the interview.
Embassy scheduled interview for 3 days after we received the packet 3!

Comments : CBP guys really nice and joked with Fresy. They saw her K-1 envelope as she approached the counter and went "Woo - Hoo" K-1 visa!

Secondary processing took only 10 minutes and they never asked her a single question. Just did Fresy's biometrics and processed the visa. Officer gave a nice "Welcome to the United States" and she was on her way!

POE Review: Fort Lauderdale
Event Description
Entry Date : 2012-01-21
Embassy Review : Really great POE experience at Ft. Lauderdale for Fresy!
She waited in line for about 40 minutes to get to the CBP officers' counter. As she approached, the officer saw her envelope and said "Woo-Hoo - a K-1 Visa" (He was actually happy to be processing her papers.

She was escorted for secondary processing and biometrics were taken. CBP asked her no questions and were really polite when processing her papers. Time spent in secondary was about 10 minutes. Received a nice "Welcome to America" from CBP when they were done processing her paperwork.

Customs officers also really friendly with Fresy. She was asked if she had any food items in her luggage, she said no and she was out of Customs in about 2 minutes. No baggage inspection - just a friendly "Welcome to the USA" from a nice Customs officer!

The only thing that scared Fresy a bit was that CBP was in the process of detaining a man who had previously overstayed a visa. She watched CBP place the man into handcuffs and escort him away. BUT - as soon as they were done dealing with the arrest they were nothing but nice and friendly to Fresy.

What a nice experience overall in our POE.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
