APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my experience as a thank you to all of you that have helped my wife and I through answers to our many questions or just for providing a place to let off steam.

Appointment time: 2.30pm

12.00pm Set off from In-Laws (about an hour out side the cities) to have lunch with Mother-in-Law. Make sure NOT to order Meatball sub.

12.45pm Set off for interview - roads surprisingly quiet

1.35pm Arrive at Metro drive for interivew, use upper parking lot where the doors to the building are. Attempt to go in wrong door. The immigration door is not the one under the concrete canopy, it is to the left of this as you look at the building. After you going through security, we were directed to the stairs, at the top of the stairs are the bathrooms, if you need to go I wouold do so now. After this is the window where you hand in your interview notice and get in line for an interview. The only reason I mention this is because a couple before us were called in and on of them was in the bathroom, they had to wait a while before they were called again. They were called by the same officer and no-one jumped ahead of them, but it was a wait I think!

2.20pm We were called in. I forget her name but she had shortish dark hair and was average height. She asked to stay standing when we entered her office so she could administer the oath. I answer "I Do", my wife (the USC) answered "Yes". Both answers seemed acceptable because we were then invited to sit. She took my passport from me and ripped out the I94 right away (approved already I almost dared to think)She asked me the following:

My full name
DOB
SSN
Mother's Name
Father's Name
My wife's full name

She then went through the application and asked the are you a terrorist, a prostitute, a nazi, a nazi prostitute with a terrorist fetish questions. I said no to all. We both got a chuckle from the do you have children ANYWHERE? question. Just the way she stressed the word anywhere. I don't so we moved on. She asked for my old J-1 Docs and any other immigration docs including my EAD card. She then asked if we had any photos or other documents that we wnated to show her. I pulled out our very snazzy and expensive pthoto album (plus a ocupel of others that had pics in our guests took). Just to set the scene, our album is Graphi Studio. You pick the pictures, the album tpe and paper and they send it to Italy and they put it together. The pictures overlap and have cool effects and looks very nice on the metallic style paper we picked. I think that album alone sealed the deal. Towards the end of the second album she started to get a little bored of our pics (and I don't blame her, there were a lot). I had a stack of a bills, lease, car insurance and renters insurance that I gave her. She checked it over and gave me back all the originals.

The only thing she asked my wife (literally) was where did we get such a great wedding album done. She did not ask for our tax return, employment letters, updated I864, birth certificates or marriage certificate. I did not offer it because I fgured she did not need it. She then said she was goign to go ahead and approve me. I didn't get offered the stamp and decided I did not want to ask for it as we have no lans ot go anywhere. I was told to expect the GC in 3-4 weeks and to apply for a new one in 2 years. Did not receieve anything to take with me nor did I have to sign anything. It was just over, in fact my wife and I were unsure so we just sat there, the lady looked up and just said , its ok, you can go. She was nice without being too nice and strict without being too strict. It made us feel as though her decision would be fair, whatever she decided, very professional.

Again, thank you to everyone on these boards, hope you are all well and happy in your continuing journeys.

Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
