Comments : We arrived 30 minutes prior to our interview (our field office wouldn't allow entry before that time). We went through security and ended up in a long waiting room. We waited there for approximately 2 hours before our name was called for our interview.

We were asked to sit together, both of us in the same room, with one USCIS employee at the desk. We gave her our tax records and joint lease agreement (for our apartment). She asked if we had any photos to give her, but unfortunately, ours were all saved on our phones.

She asked us questions about our relationship (such as when or how we met). She asked my wife more detailed questions, such as when my birthday was. Overall, it was not difficult. The questions she asked had answers on the forms we submitted. As long as you didn't falsify your information, this part should be relatively easy for you!

When we were finished, my wife was sworn in and asked questions related to the checkboxes on the form (are you with a terrorist organization?). Once these were over, she informed us that my wife was a legal resident and that we'd receive her green card within 2-4 weeks!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
