Local US CIS Office Review: Cincinnati OH

Event Description

Embassy Review : The visit was to take my biometrics for the AOS process.

We started the day with a drive down from Dayton to Cincinnati, which is a smooth enough drive if you hit the traffic right. We found the CIS Office, the closest parking is directly across the street from them, but it'll sting you for at least $8 (ouch!). There are other parking spots nearby that are a little less expensive, but they aren't in the most obvious of places, and you'll be walking for a little while.

Anyway, we made it to the office. The security staff were polite and professional, they even shared a joke with us, which definitely brightened my day. Went straight down the hall to the room where the biometrics were taken. There wasn't much of a queue by my reckoning, but the staff member seemed to be stressing about the supposed "high numbers" for that day. His attitude was a little passive-aggressive, perhaps bordering on rude, but if things were as busy as he was saying then it's understandable. Public servants, what are ya gonna do, eh? javascript:emoticon('')

In any case, the process itself was quick and painless. ID was required to verify who I was, they provided me with a checklist/questionnaire asking about my age, race, etc. Standard stuff. Then they let me use hand sanitizer and took me to get my fingerprints and photos taken. All in all, the process was finished within 15 minutes and I was out of there.

Aside from the high parking fees and the passive-aggressive biometrics officer, it was a quick (bordering on pleasant) visit. Nothing to be afraid of, so keep those nerves at bay. javascript:emoticon('')

I give it a 7/10 overall.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
