Embassy Review : Hi.

I didn't plan on leaving a review but after our experience I thought I would in case this would help anyone else.

Our interview was Nov. 18th at 645am. We arrived at 6am and there were many people already in line. There are many buscuns or w/e they call them telling you you need this and you need that. I told my hubby that from reviews on VJ and from others NOT to listen to them. Besides, this is the US Embassy. If we needed something else don't you think they would have told us?

I don't understand why people want to listen to this people dressed in ragged clothes looking all homeless yet everyone wants to believe them. I had to BEG my hubby to listen to me and not them. I think people are just nervous and just do it but it was pissing me off. They just kept standing near u trying to look at your papers and tell u what u need. "No! Leave us alone. We are fine. You do not work for the embassy so i am not going to listen to you." …they finally got the hint

Anyway, you can make the decision to listen to them or not. They must be very persuasive because many listened. We didn't and we were fine. DON'T LISTEN DONT PAY!

Once inside things went fast. You get a number they call you up you give them PCC, birth certificate and marriage certificate then we did fingerprints then we wait for the interview.

Once it was our turn, I wasn't nervous. BUT…my hubby and I met and got married within 4months. Our CO noticed this and the first thing he said was, "so you got married so fast within 4months…"…once he said that i suddenly got so nervous lol …

he went on to ask questions about our marriage and how we met….then b/c i only speak broken spanish he asked my hubby a few questions in spanish and then to me in english ….i think this was done to see if we had the same matching answers …..a couple of times our CO tried to trick us i think …we told him we got married n 2013…a few questions later he told my hubby so u got married in 2012? ….i understood that and together we both said, "NO 2013!" …he smiled lol….

then he said how many times have u visited DR…i have been there 9times within 1 year and showed him my passport….his eyes got sooo big and people, this is the thing that saved us i believe ….because as he flipped thru my passport his eyes just kept getting bigger….guess he was surprised to hear me say i came 9 times …i told him i wanted to make sure he was the right man for me ….he asked for pictures which i gave him 30 in like photo album…he looked at them in great detail…smiled and handed them back…..

while he was going through our file the hubby and i waited…he turned back on the mic and handed us a green card…"congrats you are approved ..go pay domex"

the interview it lasted like 5min no lie…we were asked about 5 questions each …nothing about family or jobs or my life in america like most people …just about how we met …had he ever been to the states and if he ever had any family in the us - both were no….like i said, once he saw my passport and our pics i think that is what sealed the deal….

lol when our CO said APPOVED...my hubby turned my whole body around and kissed me so loud and so long my God i was kinda embarrassed because everyone can you see lol but w/e…the journey was over…we paid domex….and our visa changed to issued the next day and we called domex and today in a couple of hours we will go pick up …visa pick up was ready in 2 days after the interview …yes!

good luck and God bless to all..

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
