I (USC) and my infant daughter (also USC) were able to stay with my elderly mom, whose POE was in DFW airport. She was on IR-5 visa. We followed the signs and her passport was reviewed briefly by a passport control officer, who looked at it, looked at the package we carried from the embassy, and then asked me how I got my US citizenship. I didn’t want to be rude with him and tell him its none of his business and gave him an answer: I married an USC. He asked where is my husband and I told him that he went through the USC line, so he can get our luggage quicker. At this point, the officer walked with us to the immigration room. There was one family ahead of us and about 3 officers behind the windows with not much to do. The passport control officer gave mom’s passport, my passport and my daughters passport, and the packet from the embassy to the immigration officer, who reviewed everything within 5 mins. We waited less than a minute, when another officer came to get mom’s fingerprints. He asked if she is immigrating. I answered: Yes, on her behalf. He took fingerprints, asked her to sign and went back behind the glass windows. Another officer called my name and gave back our passports. Mom’s passport was stamped. There were no additional questions or formalities, so I went back to doublecheck we are good to go. We were. No additional information was given to us about paying the immigration fee and time frame of receiving the green card. We left the immigration room. Right outside the room, there was an officer who asked for the customs declaration form. I had to explain to him as well where my husband was, since he had us marked as four people traveling together. After that we went to get our luggage. Lufthansa had lost my bag, so that’s where the excitement started. We counted all bags – 1, got a cab and went home. I wish all of you reading this review have as uneventful POE as we did in DFW. All probably took less than 15 mins and was very anticlimactic. LH brought my bag 3 days later, now that is something to talk about….
