Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiance arrived around 7:00am. He was well dressed and carried a small briefcase. As he neared the gate there was a very large crowd that caught him by surprise. The first person that greeted him was a Rastafarian gentleman who offered to hold his items in a bag while Garry was in the embassy. Garry first went across the street to grab a quick breakfast before returning to the gentleman to leave his items. Garry walked up to the gate, they checked his interview letter and told him to get his DS forms out and the 6 passport pictures. The people at the gate clipped the passport photos to the forms and gave them back to Garry. He then moved on to the security checkpoint. He was asked to empty his pockets, remove his belt and put all other items on the moving belt.

After he cleared security, Garry went to another person who reviewed his passport. He then went into another room where there were a lot of people waiting. There were no available chairs so he stood for about 15 minutes until his number was called. When he approached the window the lady asked for the DS forms, police record, medical documents, financial documents, non impediment and passport. He was a bit nervous but she kindly asked him to take his time and get the documents. This was especially nice because kind words do make a difference.
He handed over the documents and she asked him if he ever traveled before and he replied...no. She told him to keep the album and phone records in his hand while he waits for his name to be called.

After about 40 minutes, his name was called by a middle aged Caucasian man. They greeted each other with good mornings and he confirmed that it was Garry. He asked the following questions:
What's your fiance's name?
He was asked to write my name and his name.
Where did you meet your fiance?
How did you guys meet? Garry explained the progression of the relationship.
Where did she stay when visiting?
Garry mentioned that we had twins together and that he had the birth certificates in his possession. The CO asked to see them, verified that he was the father and handed them back to Garry.
Were you ever arrested was the last question.

The CO then asked for his passport and told Garry to go to window 26 to set up the DHL delivery of his visa. He paid approximately $1,150 J. Garry got a receipt and was told that MOBAY would be his pick up and that he should call within seven days.

That was his embassy experience...TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!
