My appointment on August 2 was at 6:45 am. I arrived at the embassy at around 6 am. It took more than an hour before they let me in the embassy. Applicants had to stand at the waiting area outside the embassy. People selling umbrella that day must have made a lot of money because it was so windy and it was raining hard that people wanted bigger umbrellas.
Before they let me enter the premises, they wanted to see my appointment letter and my passport. They sticked something at the back of my passport and they gave me a number (that will be your number whenever they transact with you).
Then I have to go through the security check. Food, drinks, cellphones and other electronics are not allowed.
After that, I have to fall in line again. The lady checked if I have all my DS forms and the MRV receipt. She told me to drop them at window 39.
It took 2 hours before I got called for the finger scanning at window 41. I got called again after 30 mins. At the next window, a Filipina lady interviewed me and took the necessary documents, NBI clearance, CENOMAR, Birth Certificate, Passport, Affidavit of Support. I also gave her the ITR\'s W2\'s for the last 2 years, Pay stubs, and Letter from my fiance\'s employer.
From what I can recall, these are the questions she asked me:
1. What\'s your name
2. What\'s your fiance\'s name.
3. When did you meet?
4. How did you meet?
5. When did you see each other?
6. What\'s the length of his stay here in the Philippines?
7. How many times did he visit you?
8. Have you ever been out of the country?
9. Have you ever been issued other visas?
10. Is it your first time to apply for a U.S. visa?
11. What did you finish in school?
12. Have I been married before?
13. Do I have children?
14. Has my fiance been married before?
15. Does he have children?
16. Where is my fiance right now?
She asked me if I have photos, letters, chat logs that I can show to the consul? I said yes, and she told me to wait for my final interview.
After around 20 mins, I was called at window 68. The consul was an elderly white guy. He seems really nice. I think he only asked me 3 simple questions. He said everything looks great! Have a happy trip! It was making me wonder if that means I was approved. But it seemed like it. Lol He told me to go to window 72 for the next instructions. He didn't even bother to look at the letters, chat logs, photos, that I brought with me.
When I got called at window 72, the guy told me to just wait for my visa to be delivered.
I went back to the Boulevard Mansion Hotel (just across the Embassy). I crossed the foot bridge and it was still raining so hard. But I don\'t care. I was too happy to care about the bad weather.
