My appointment was scheduled for July 13th (lucky 13) at 9:00am. At 7:45 I checked my phone in at Gould's Pharmacy for £3.00 and got 2 passport photos done for £5.00 as the ones I had were over 6 months old. I then walked over to the Embassy and got in line at 7:50. I showed my interview letter to the person out front and then walked over to a security hut where I placed all my pocket items like my wallet, keys, change, fags, lighter and watch into a plastic baggie to go through the x-ray machine. Also I removed my belt. Best to do all this ahead of time as there were two people in front of me fumbling with their things and cause I had my stuff ready they let me pass through first

I then entered the embassy where a woman sat at a desk took my interview letter and my MRV receipt off me to look at and then she put a sticker with my number on it. My number was i911 and I noticed the 911 part right away O.o)) I then went up some stairs, through a huge a door and waited till my number was called.

I waited a little over an hour and at about 9:10 they called my number. I went to window 13 (what's with the number 13??) where a cranky oldish woman took my interview letter and MRV, and said "I'll be back in a minute." She was gone for about 5-10 minutes and I started to freak out a bit. Finally she returned with a HUGE pink folder, asked me to sign 2 forms and date them. She handed me my chest x-ray on a disk and then asked me for my sponsors documents and co-sponsors documents if any which I gave her. She didn't want photocopies of these, only originals. She looked them over and then asked me for the Police Certificate, Birth Certificate and my Divorce Decree. She said, "If you have photocopies of these I will take them." She then gave me a pink form, told me to read it and fill it out. She said it was for delivery if the interview was successful and wished me good luck.

I sat down, filled in my pink form and 10-15 minutes later my number was called again. This time I went to window 14 (NOT 13!) where I was greeted by an American lady who had what I assumed to be 2 trainees with her. She handed me back my original documents mentioned above, asked me my Fiancees full name and then asked me to print it and sign underneath it. She then had me raise my right hand and swear that I was telling the truth etc. I promptly said, "Yes."

OK so I was asked...
How and when did we meet?
When was the first time we met in person?
Do I have any kids?
Does my Fiancee have any kids?
Will my kids be traveling with me or visiting at a later date?
What kind of wedding were we having? (like a church or something else)
How many people would be attending?

I answered all the questions above and then she said the magic words... "I don't see any problems with this application, I am going to go ahead and approve this." To which I said, "THANK YOU! *pause* Is that it?" and she said, "Yes, the next steps for you will be AOS. Congratulations!"

I proceeded to the DX Secure counter and paid £36.00 with my Visa Debit card (NO CASH) for the pre 8am delivery. I was warned NOT to open the sealed envelope in the package that says DO NOT OPEN on it or I would have to send it back to the London Embassy to be repacked and sealed. They told me it would take 5-8 days and gave me my tracking information.

All in all It was about 2 hours total and I am so glad to have that behind me!
