Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancé arrived to the Consulate BNK at 0630 and was #2 in line and the consulate opened at 0700 to let the people in. She dressed in a nice jacket an slacks along with my K2, they looked very business professional. She was finished at 0930.

A little background. We had our interview on Jan 5 at 0730 an on jan 3 we were going thru the the order (over the phone video call) that the consulate wonted the documents in an in the section on Divorce documents it read:

Termination of Marriage or Death Certificates: Original and copy. ***Both*** the petitioner and
applicant must present certificates for the legal termination of ***any*** prior marriages or of the
death of a prior spouse. Please place the English translation of this document on top of the
original. If you do not have the ***original, a certified copy*** can be accepted instead of the original. After
reviewing, we will return the original documents.

We some how missed this very important notice in the section. So my first marriage ended in divorce in 1993. So i had to send PDF of both the death cert and the divorce dissalusion.I only had the divorce dissalusion not the decree so i PDF it to her so she had something. i could not get the originals to her in time.. I thought for sure we were enroute to an Admidstrative hold. My fiancé was worried but still went to the interview confident with just the copies.

When she was called to the window she and my K2 stepdaughter went there and the interview began:
Questions not in this specific order:
1-how long have you known your fiancé
2-how many times has he been to thailand
3-was he married before
4-does he have children
5-does he visit his children alot
6-when was the last time he was in BKK
7-do you have a picture of him and you on his last visit here
K2 question
1-how old are you

Then the agent went thru the documents and started to separate them by don't need this, don't need this.

The agent finally kept only my copy of the Death certificate, Divorce papers that was dissolved in 1993 an my bio page of my pass port.and returned the rest

We came well prepared with a photo album with lots of labeled pictures and she was like thats ok thats a lot.

She said congratulations you have passed and we will mail you the visa within 10 days..

The agent was nice, understanding, courteous and kind even tho she was mostly all business.

Finally finished with Part 1- 20 months timeline.

Good luck an god bless
