So arrived about 30 mins early for the interview at the new embassy. Was a little nervous but all the staff and even police outside the embassy are very helpful and calm you down!

Proceeded through security, its airport style. They allow small backpacks in BTW. got through security and proceeded to enter the embassy.

Once you walk in, you approach a desk where they ask for appointment letter and passport. they then check these and stick a sticker onto the appointment letter. Your appointment number is on the sticker. Don't lose the sticker!!! They then explain your appointment number to you and tell you where to go next.

You then go up the elevator to the first floor, which has loads of interview windows. The Immigrant visa windows are left out of the lift and round a corner. Once there, you sit and wait for your number to appear.

Once your number appears (took around 15 mins for me) you proceed to the window where they check your documents and ask a few brief questions like intended travel date, address etc. They ask to see your documents, ones they asked me for were as follows;

-Appointment letter
-Passport
-Original birth certificate
-Marriage licence
-Military records (Discharge papers)
-Courior conformation

once this is complete you sit down again and wait for the interview.

Was waiting i think around 20-30 mins until my number got called. proceeded to the window and started the interview. After exchanging Good mornings and the like they ask for your appointment letter and passport. They then ask you to raise your right hand and take an Oath. Saw some people not taking this seriously and annoying the interviewer so yeah behave! He then proceeded to ask me a few questions, they were;

-How did you and your wife meet
-Where does she live now
-What does she do for work.

That was it! He said that due to the overwhelming evidence we had submitted, that was all he had to ask. Photos are key BTW. We sent in a stack of nearly 200 photos!

Then said the words Visa approved.

Overall a very present experience. The embassy is very easy to get to from the tube also. Vauxhall station is less than 10 mins walk away.

Cheers and good luck to everyone!javascript:emoticon('')
