My husband had his spouse visa interview in October, 2016. After enjoying our reunion for the past several months, I am finally submitting our review of the Lagos, Nigeria consulate.

First, I would like to share that the night before the interview, I sent my love a prayer to say the morning of his interview, and I was praying the same one here. Thanks to the Visa Journey guides and members, our whole process and interview went smoothly and fast for the most part, and while I was not able to be there with my sweet husband in person, I was there in my heart, waiting by the phone and checking his status constantly.

That morning of our interview, my husband got up very early to pray and prepare, and then left to find a cab. When none appeared, he began to walk, all the while praying to be on time. Then when he turned a corner, there was a bike. His prayer was answered! He arrived at the consulate and was third in line. A woman tried to tell him he was in the wrong line, but because he knew she was wrong, he held his spot.

Like most applicants, he was in a separate line for immigrants and allowed to sit. He went through the checks, paperwork presenting, and was called to the window for the interview. He was asked many questions, most of which are in all of the reviews here on VJ.

It was nerve racking when there were so many questions, but we had compiled a list from here on VJ and practiced often to settle his nerves. Just like front-loading the petition with our evidence of a bona fide relationship, preparing for the interview helped my husband not be intimidated by a person who would get to decide our immediate future. In fact, by following everything here on VJ we knew without a shadow of a doubt that we'd be together before Christmas! I'm confident our prayers and working together as a team were the reasons for our success!

VJ was extremely helpful in every stage of our visa process. From the checklists, sample forms and letters, questions answered by other members, especially Wheels, reading other experiences, to helping us not make mistakes at each stage so that everything went smoothly and helping us have a successful interview, we couldn't have had such fast success without it. It took 10 months from the beginning to my husband being here, and we could not be happier.

When it's time for us to apply for a permanent green card, we will for sure seek more help on VJ. This website is more than a miracle, it is a community of friends helping each other out.
