Salam Alaykum all
I got to the embassy at 7:35 am and that's when they started allowing applicants to get to in, I stood in a line in front of a window to give my ID to the agent so I could get a visitor badge, then I waited in front of the door, an agent will open the door n tell you when to come in. After you get in you put all your metal stuff ( money coins, watch, keys..etc) and vest in a plastic box + your shoes to go through the scanner and you give them your phone, then you go through the scanner and you pick your stuff except for the phone (they will keep it till you go out) you will walk down to another building where you will find the door on your left, you get in, you give the agent your passport and your DS-160 confirmation, she/he will tell you to go to 'guichet' = counter N°1 to pay visa fees, we waited before counter till it opened around 8:10 am and K1 visa applicants paid 29200 DZD on that day, you will be asked to sit and wait till they call your name, after waiting for 2 hours they called my name to counter N°3 where a kind Algerian lady asked me to put my left hand & then right hand to take fingerprints and then she asked for documents ( civil documents : the ones on fiancé requirements pdf in English n Arabic + evidence of support : form I-134 + W2 + employment letter+ tax return + pay stubs... + evidence of on-going relationship: airplane tickets+ copies of biometeric passport page n the stamped pages + letters ( if you have any ) + dated chats ( screenshots are the best ) + your pictures together( in album if possible) + your medical exam (if you have it, if you don't, don't worry they will guide you where to deliver it)
then she will give your IMBRA to read it while you sit and wait for your interview.
I waited an hour and half before my name was called to counter N°6, I greeted the Council Officer ( try to be friendly and keep a smiling face during the interview, nervousness raises suspension so try to relax n think of the interview as a conversation ) she asked me to raise my right hand n swear to tell the truth then the interview started.
*** Before I list the questions I was asked, Please remember that every case is unique and therefore you will be asked 'unique = different' questions related to your case ***
- How did you know your fiancee?
- Why would an native English speaker be in an 'English practice' chat room?
- Explain how people practice in that room?
- When did you meet her?
- Where does she live?
- What does she do?
- When did you propose?
- How did you propose? on phone or by typing?
- When did you meet her in person?
- Why did you wait all that time ? ( we are engaged for 5 years )
- Where did you meet in person?
- Why didn't you visit her?
- Why didn't you borrow money from your parents and visit her?
- What are your wedding plans?
- Where are you going to have the wedding?
- After you enter the US Where are you going to stay?
then she gave me a white paper (221g) showing that I am missing the medical exam report and it also shows the address I should deliver it to.
