Except for the rain that poured very heavily the moment we got in front of the US Embassy, our overall experience was wonderful -- very smooth and easy.
Our schedule for interview was at 7:30am and my K2 and I were there just before 7am. There was a long line and whole bunch of ppl outside the building but we just went straight to the shaded "checkpoint" and told them we're for K1 and they accommodated us right away. The moment we got in the building to the time we exited at about 8:30am, everything was fluid. We didn't have to deal with grumpy or stern or serious or unfriendly officer or staff. From data entry, to biometrics, to the preliminary interview with the Filipino officer to the American CO -- they were all cheerful and bubbly and nice and accommodating. It's either because it's still early (they're not tired yet) or we just got so lucky.
From the data entry officer to the American CO, I was almost asked the same questions:
- My name, my K2's name, our DOB
- My petitioner's name, relationship, DOB
- Address of the petitioner, occupation
- How and when we met, dates of our meetings in person
- If I have a US B1/B2 visa (yes, and it was stamped cancelled right there)
- If I have been to the US, the dates and for how long
I was asked if I have photos with me, I said yes, and when I was about to take them out of my bag, I was told there's no need for those because we included plenty of photos in our petition file already. (That makes me proud and thankful that we went overboard with our petition file!) I also was not asked for the Affidavit of Support form, nor the other supporting documents as my fiancé's 1040, W2, pay stubs, etc.
My time with the American CO took just about 3-4 minutes, with me just standing there and the consul just looking between our file and the computer majority of the time. "Everything looks good. Your visa is approved. You may go home and expect your passports in about a week." Those were the sweetest words I heard since the approval of our petition!

Overall, it's a very pleasant experience at USEM Manila. Good luck to everyone going through the same process too!
