🇺🇸MY INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE 09.04.14
🔹We stayed in Best Western La Corona Hotel...woke up at 5am then had breakfast & around 6:45am we headed to the US Embassy which is only a 5-min walk via the footbridge.
🔹Before 7am, we already joined the queue line under immigrants. The queueing lines are quite confusing so do confirm first whether u are following the right line. Again, it takes loads of patience to wait so its better to wear comfortable clothes & shoes.
▪️USEM ENTRANCE
🔹Prepare & present the following docs before entering USEM:
✔️DS-160 Confirmation Page only
✔️Appointment Confirmation
✔️Valid Passport
🔹USEM Staff puts sticker at the back of my passport & slides it inside a ziplock bag. Then he stapled my DS-160 form & appointment confirmation together & asked the following questions:
1. Do you have companion?
2. (He asked my F) Whats your name sir? Can I have your passport?
🔹After that, he gave me back my docs along with our passports then told us we can go thru now.
▪️SECURITY CHECK
🔹There were separate door for US citizens & immigrants/non-immigrant. Everyone goes thru the security check where your stuffs will go thru the scanning machine. I made sure I've not brought any thing that is prohibited or restricted inside the embassy to avoid delays.
▪️TICKET BOOTH
🔹As soon as i get out the door, it led me to another queue line for claiming my priority number. I went to window 1 & she asked for the appointment confirmation/DS-160. Then she handed me back the forms along with my ticket number which is 6193 & the list of documents to submit during the interview. She instructed me to proceed to door 2 & drop the forms to window 39. The staffs were helpful to assist & one lady collected my docs & told me to take a seat & just check my number on the queueing board.
▪️BIOMETRICS
🔹Me & my F seated in the waiting area while keeping our eyes at the queueing board. Suddenly my F saw my number flashing then straight away we got inside the main building but have to pass thru another scan machine. We went to window 43 & the guy on the window asked for my number then after that he asked me to do the following sequence of finger scanning.
1. 4 Fingers (Left hand)
2. 4 Fingers (Right Hand)
3. 2 Thumbs together
🔹After the biometrics, I was asked to sit down but this time we were able to find vacant seats inside. So while waiting, I made sure that the required documents listed on the piece of paper are all set & ready. These are the lists:
Original Documents
✔️ Valid Passport
✔️ NSO Birth Certificate
✔️ NSO Cenomar or Marriage Certificate
✔️ Update NBI Clearance (for Travel Abroad)
✔️ Affidavit of Support from the petitioner (Form I-134)
✔️ Proof of relationship with the petitioner
Photocopies
✔️ Latest Income Tax Returns (Form 1040)
✔️ Latest Withholding Tax Statement (W-2)
▪️INITIAL INTERVIEW
🔹Around 9am again my super attentive F saw my number flashing & was called on window 36. I greeted with a smile then the Filipino consul asked me to drop the following documents:
✔️NSO Birth Certificate
✔️NSO Cenomar
✔️NBI Clearance
✔️MRV Slip
✔️Affidavit of Support (Form I-34)
✔️Latest ITR (Form 1040)
🔹After gathering all my docs, the FC started to ask me the following questions:
1. How did you met ur F?
2. When did you met ur F?
3. Whats the job of ur F?
4. How many times he visited u?
5. Have you traveled abroad?
6. How long did u stayed abroad?
7. How many times is ur F been married?
8. Have u ever been married?
9. Do you have kids?
FC: Ganda naman ng birth certificate mo may nakalagay pa na "Magandang Gensan!"(habang nakatingin sa bcert ko & syempre napa-smile ako sabay sabi "TY!" Naku di nya lang alam na it took me 2 months para makakuha ng clear copy kc blurred talaga nung birth certificate ko. Its worth the wait nga naman "sigurista" lang talaga ang peg ko pra iwas 221g.)
FC: San ba mas maganda Gensan or Cebu?(humirit pa talaga ng tanong c FC & syempre sinagot ko maganda ang Cebu pero mas love ko pa rin ang Gensan😍
FC: Gusto ko talaga bisitahin ang Gensan..ang daming Tuna, paborito ko! (Naku c Kuya naging chikka minute bigla ang show habang c F ko sa tabi nakikiramdam...hmm!😚
FC: Meron ka bang photos para sa proof of relationship nyo. Ipakita mo nalang mamaya pag hinanap sayo. Pwd ka ng bumalik sa upuan at hintayin mong mgflash ulit ang number mo. (Hayzz sa wakas natapos din..hehe😜
🔹It was a looong wait for the final interview thinking we couldnt make it before lunch. But around 11:30am my F spotted my number flashed on the queueing board the moment i least expect it. I started to feel tensed while me & my super supportive F were walking towards window 59 but i tried my best to take it easy.
▪️FINAL INTERVIEW
🔹My conversation with the American guy Consul:
AC: Good morning! (with a smile😊 How are you today?
Me: Good morning..Im feeling great! (in a high intonation plus a sweet big smile😄 para effect..Hehe)
AC: Nice..that's good!
Me: (Back in my mind im saying "Kaya ko toh Go go kulugo!"😜
AC: Please state your name & ur birth date.
Me: blah blah blah
AC: Please raise your right hand & read the oath in front of you.
Me: (So binasa ko in English pero my hands were shaking & pati boses ko pero carry lang todo support talaga c F ko at may pahimas2 pa sa likod pra mapakalma lang ako. Ayyy sweet! Sobrang thankful ko talaga ky sweetypie ko nakakawala ng kaba ung presence nya.)
🔹After finger scanning, these are the following questions asked by the American Consul:
1. How did you met ur Fiance?
2. When did u met him?
3. How many times did he visited you?
4. Have you traveled abroad? How long for?
5. Have you ever traveled to US before?
6. Have you been petitioned before? What year?
7. Have you ever been married?
8. Do you have any kids?
🔹The AC also asked my F the following questions:
1. What is ur name?
2. How long have you stayed in the PH?
3. Have u petitioned someone before? What year?
4. When was your divorced finalized?
🔹I observed that the AC most of the time just keep reading our approved I-129F documents & in between his questions he was encoding our responses. Since everything are all in there, he didnt asked for any more proof of relationship. Until he handed me a brochure that contains infos against violence. Then asked me to just wait for my number to be called for the issuance & delivery of my visa. I didn't confirmed anymore coz Im pretty sure that Im BOOM APPROVED!!! 👍🎉😊😘
🔹Nakaka-high ng level of confidence pagkasama c F & sweet lang talaga kc nghoholding hands pa kame. Pero nakakabitin actually & nasabi ko sa sarili ko "Ayun na ba ung interview?" Hehe...I realized its just a piece of cake & what matters is to prove you have a genuine relationship. Just take it easy, be positive & be prepared & organized as you can.
🔹So we waited for the last step which is to confirm the passport delivery. Too bad inabutan kame ng lunch time yet its good too coz i got real hungry at naubos ung energy ko sa kakaantay at nerbiyos hahaha!!!! Im really glad to met some of my sissys & happy that most of us are Approved.
🔹After an hour, we returned inside & window 70 started calling numbers & again my sweetypie heard that my number was one of it. So I hurriedly went to the window & when it was my turn, he asked for my queue number & pulled out a folder containing my documents. After checking, he said its all ok now & just wait for your passport with your visa to be delivered on your address. So I said thank you & smiled but after that may pahabol yong filipino consul sabi niya, "Diba ikaw yong ininterview ko kanina?" Hmmmm....ngsmile lang ako sabay alis.
🔹I felt much relieved & overjoyed & finally natapos din. Thanks God! Thanks also to my lover, bestfriend & lifetime partner for being so supportive all throughout the process. Thank you sa group & members who shared their knowledge & experiences that helped me a lot during my visa process. Thank you sa family & friends ko who showed their support by sending me prayers & wishes & to everyone who have been part of my Life's journey. DAGHANG SALAMAT!!! 👍🎉🙏💍👏🇺🇸✈️
