Review Topic: K1 Visa

We were in line by 5am in the building AFTER our 6:45am appt. time due to the Embassy employees delays in opening the doors and processing people. We were approved and out the door by 1:20pm. More than 8 hours later.

The cafeteria is a rip off and the food is gross!

We were called initially pretty quickly then it took several hours for us to be called for fingerprints and a few more hours for us to be interviewed and approved.

Our Interview overall was pretty quick but there were TWO Officers not one.

The older male officer was VERY skeptical, very intimidating, unhappy, curt, direct, and somewhat menacing in his demeanor. The female officer also looked unphased... and a little annoyed at hiving him present.

She asked how we met? When I attempted to answer, the male officer began cutting me off and asking questions twisting my responses to NOT what I had answered.

Then the male officer asked what he does for work and what his duties are? I answered the few that I knew but asked my fiancee if I was missing anything.. he answered a few other duties he does at work.

Then he asked how many Brothers he had, their names and where they lived? I answered One Full Brother and a I believe a half brother who lived up North...
When I looked to my Fiancee for clarification of the actual location of a half-brother whom I had had no contact with (I have spoken on the phone with his Full Brother) when he attempted to help me, the male officer promptly cut him off and VERY RUDELY sent my Fiancee outside the Casilla to the Lobby to wait.

Once my Fiance was out the door, he than began rapid fire questioning me asking all manner of questions that would most people wouldn't know the answer too and some that I should know.

Examples:
What does his Brother do for a living?
What's his Job Title?
Name of the Company He works for?
Does his Brother live in a house or an apartment?
*** House, I believe...
Does he own or rent this home?
*** Own I guess.... (How the f&#@ should I know!!)
How many Bedrooms and Baths?? (WTF)
*** I have NO Clue but I believe it has a pool.
Have you met him?
*** No just spoke on the phone.
How many times?
*** Two.
Whom does the Brother live with???
*** His Mother
Who's Mother?
*** The Same Mother as my Fiancee.
Do you know her?
*** Yes.
Have you met her?
*** Yes.
So she lives in your City?
*** No. (I had JUST TOLD them she lived 5.5 hours away)

So you went to the meet her in her City (The house/place I just said I'd never seen)
*** No. (With a confused are you are stupid?? look on my face.)

How much do you talk to her?
*** How Much? Do you mean in total history or an average? (Because Now I see they are trying to specifically tear apart the story looking for flaws or lies.... I am asking for clarification of EXACTLY what they are asking before I answer!
I am a very honest person so we had no problems as long as I was clear EXACTLY what they were asking.

They asked about who asked to marry whom? My Engagement Ring? Who bought it? When?

I showed them pictures of the ring and that it was the same ring that was also on my finger. (yes they asked...lol)

More rapid fire questions but nothing you can prep for and I believe they don't want to have an answer in all honesty anyway.

The male leaned over turned off the mic and made ugly, skeptical faces, rolled his eyes while discussing whatever with the lady, then he left.

I whispered into the mic for me if that was her Supervisor and she softly nodded yes.. I softly whispered "Oh! I HATE when my boss stands over me while I work.. drives me bonkers and makes me so nervous I can't even type!!" to which she finally broke and laughed. She eyed me a minute.. then said she was going to bring my Fiancee back.

I waited and he hadn't come up yet. I looked back and he was still sitting.. I asked her and she realized she had not pushed the button to call our number and said I could motion to him... I did and she hit the button to page our number.

That's pretty much it... He came up and she began explaining the next steps for him...
She didn't ask for ANY of our paperwork or Evidence beyond what he was supposed to bring that day. I offered to show the three photo albums and 45 pages of call logs and 90 pages of text messages but she giggled and said no, we're good.

When it was all said and done we stood there waiting and she looked puzzled asked if I needed something else? I smiled and said umm yes.. I think we are waiting for four words...?? Maybe five words Baby??? (looking at my Fiancee.. counted on my fingers and said Nope Definitely FOUR!

She looked funny they said quizzically... "Your Visa is Approved"?

We kissed and cried and left! That's it!

Be honest, take everything and then some.... and mostly be prepared to possibly wait ALLLL FRIGGIN DAAAAYYYY PATIENTLY!!!!!
