Review Topic: K1 Visa

Thank you God for being merciful on thais K1 journey, despite red flags like our 16 year age difference, me the female USC being older. Only two visits to Nigeria (stayed less than 4 days each time)each visit 3 months apart, not having seen my fiance for 16 months since my last visit, only five pictures togather, I never meet his family, spoke to few of them. He has no kids I have one todler. I have been divorced 2 times he has never been married. With visa Visa Journey's help we were always overly prepared. I did however make sure that we had all documents needed and tons of call logs of yahoo messenger etc. Box shipped for him to take to embassy was 13 lbs of paper work. Thanks to all VJ members who shared their expericnces to help us prepare.

K1 interview on Friday 09/21.
Fiance got to emabassy about 5:40AM. He was amazed at how big the crowd was and wondered how they would interview that many people that day. About 6 AM an office announced things that cannot be brought inside and could be taken back to your car (items like cell phones). About 6:30 AM they announced for non-immigrants visa to join line (that ia where most of the people went). Later my fiance was number 4 in line for immigrant visa (K1), went through lots of security checks. Paid for visa and got pass. Was given a number not according to how he joined the line, women with children were given 1st priority. His observation was there were 7 people before him and the last 3 before him did not seem to get a visa. Th Black American lady C/O seemed very strict and the way she would you look at you was as if she knew every detail about you already. My fiance remembered being very happy that was asked to give his payment voucher by the white laday who was very friendly and had a great attitude. She asked:

1. Who filed for you?
2. Who is she to you?
3. When did you start talking?
4. Have you meet?
5. How many times have we meet?
6. What do we have in common?
7. What do we agree upon?
8. When did he decide he decide he wanted to marry me?
9. Where was I born?
10. What year did I came to America?
11. Does he talk to any of my American family members and who does he talk to?
12. How do we plan to get married? He did say court house. Ha,ha, it is the truth, (I hate wedding and party planning)!!!

My fiance says that he will never forget the way his CO said " I am going to give you the visa and it is going to be ready October 4th". She did not ask for any additional pics, phone loggs, anything. She gave him back a few things such as a cd and a few pics.

Thank you Lord that this part is over with and and get to have my man here with me soon. Good luck to us all.
