  • Our Story
I was spending a month at the Moscow State University to improve my conversational Russian skills and was bringing a suitcase of presents from a friend to her family in Russia. When I arrived at the airport my Yura was standing there holding a sign with my name on it. He took me to my dorm and helped me get signed in and settled so I assumed he was from the university. Oooops! He was my friend's brother! Well he just kept coming back and by the end of the month we wereboth very sad to say goodbye. After 4 months of letters and e-mail, I returned to Moscow for another month of language study and returned to the US engaged. It took me 3 months to settle my affairs in the US and prepare for my life in Russia. Then I returned to Moscow and we began the long and complicated process of doing the paperwork for a Russian wedding. After our wedding I returned to America while my husband found us a new home in a wonderful small town north of Moscow. He and his cousin spent 3 months remodeling our quaint old apartment and I returned to live with my husband in May 2005. We had wonderful jobs and wonderful friends and had planned to live there forever. But in the first week of Jan 2008 a family crisis occured in America. I grabbed the first plane I could and have been without my darling Yura ever since. I cannot leave my family and so we now must begin the long immigration process.
