Hey guys..

iIhave a couple of periods within the five years years where I stayed with friends in between getting my own place.

Do i include these address even though i wasnt the principle lease or tenancy holder?.

Also,I went travelling for a year so do i just put "unemployed"?..

For address, yes you put down the addresses where you lived. If you were travelling and had no address, you can simply say that.

For employment, some have simply put down their employers with start and finish dates without addressing any gaps. It's up to you. The G325a is biographical. Be as accurate as you can but don't expect the information will be verified unless there is some compelling reason to do so.
