Hi good day!

I am actually a J1 visa applicant and it's my first time.

I was the last applicant to be interviewed. After my interview, the consul told me that my visa will be process within 5 days and the consul have my passport.

An hour and a half after, I looked at my CEAC status and it was refused. :(:(:(

is this really normal or what? what do i need to do?

It is possible that someone pressed the wrong button when the visa was issued, and that it is on its way to you, that has happened before.

However, it is also possible that something was uncovered after you left that means the visa was refused, such as a previous overstay, criminal conviction or that the job you wanted to do was not elligible for the J1.
