My fiance was self employed for 2 years up until 6 months ago. We are thinking of using a Joint sponsor for the interview just to ensure enough proof of financial support.

It is not clear if when filing the I-134 Affidavit of Support does the fiance have to fill one and provide all supporting information AS WELL AS the co-sponsor?

Thank you. I see some websites mentioning this one I-864 instead of Form I-134, what's the difference do you know?

The I-864 is for immigrant visas (IR1/CR1, F2A etc.)

It's what you'll need to complete during the AOS.

Do you (or anyone) know if a Letter from Employer is needed if the packet from the Embassy does not list this just the W2 and 1040 form and the form?

It's not needed but, its good evidence to support ongoing income. I would also suggest providing recent pay stubs.

Has anyone heard of any visa refusal in the embassy due to you using a co-sponsor?

I mean, could they refuse it just because they think they don't have enough?

Also, if the petitioner makes just above the 125% (due to being self employed the tax returns show only that) do you recommend using a cosponsor? Or as long as we hit that 125% mark we should be okay?

Some Embassies don't allow cosponsors on K-1s and some are hit and miss. Check out the reviews for your Embassy and the regional forums for that info.

Yes if the current income is adequate, then you're good to go. We've never seen a denial based on current income being adequate but the sponsor didn't have sufficient history., at least in my 6 years here on VJ.

Hello sorry to bug again...but for the I-134, we do make more than 100% guideline, but right below the 125%, since for the I-134 it only needs to be above that 100% would you still recommend we use a sponsor since later one for the I-184 we will need it anyways, or are we good without one?
