Hello everyone,

My PD is 26-SEP-2013 so it will take little time to be current :(

So, my wife is pregnant and It looks like the baby will born there (EGYPT) not in US.

What exactly I should do when the baby will born?

As I know I have to call NVC to inform them, then What?

What I should do then?

Also, is this process will delay my case or what? (Note: my case is not complete yet. I just recieved the Case# and IIN and no further processing is available for me)

Also, please if you have link for my case in USCIS or NVC please share it with me :)

Hopefully soon movement will be faster :)

Thanks all

Baby will be derivative of her mother and will get a visa - but only if you remain LPR. If you become a USC, you will need a new petition (I-130) for the child.

Common sense - you start all over with a new I-130 - USCIS then NVC so how ever long it takes to be approved.

Its all about the timing and of course the condition of your wife and unborn baby (if the pregnancy is high risk or not).

Hi Apple21

I called NVC and told them my wife is pregnant , what should I do if baby born?

He said: you are LPR, if the child born and the case not completetd so you should call us and provide the birth certificate for the child

And if the case completed before baby born since you are green card holder you contact the US embassy in Egypt and talk to them and I don't know how it will work.

So please if you know what is required from he embassy and is it long process or not?

Thank you

I m also in the same situation as you . I have not paid aos or I V fee yet .. My pd is 2 dec 2013 . One attorney asked us to wait and see the movement of next bulletin and then pay the fees .. It's quite a confusing situation for us since my baby is due in September and I ll be allowed air travel only till mid July .. I don't know if I ll be able to finish my interview by then .. I found a link while researching http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/87519.pdf

hope it helps .. Please let me know if you get any further info .. Even my embassy told me the same thing what your embassy said ..

At my embassy - Mumbai in India , they told me that I would have to file a new petition for my child if I have my interview before my child is born .. But as per the rules on US govt website there is a provision to take child without a visa if parent has already been issued one .. I m so confused what to do .. The above link says there is no need of a new petition .. Please help me

Thank you cp9 for your help. It really help. I found this too

http://www.foreignborn.com/visas_imm/start_here/4birth_abroad.htm

It looks like it is not hard and it's clear that child should enter without visa and no additional process If Case was completed with NVC.

I hope we clear now :)

I think if child is born after your wife's visa interview then no need of visa for the child .. If your wife's interview is after the child is born then you need to contact Nvc if case is not complete ; if case is complete then you contact embassy or consulate with the child's birth certificate and passport .. Please , someone correct me if I m wrong

Hi, we are in similar situation with PD Mar-14 and expecting a child around Oct-15

Is it a better option to not file for NVC till child is born, any repercussions?
