DCF in Guangzhou - your advice please

I currently live in the Yichang, Hubei province and would like to file my wife's I-130 petition via the Guangzhou consulate. Regarding required documents, I noticed that I must provide originals and copies of certain documents. Here is the excerpt from the USCIS website:

2) Submit originals of the following:
a. Registered marriage certificate for both the petitioner and beneficiary,
b. Proof of U.S. Citizenship of petitioner,
c. Proof of termination of any prior marriage(s) for both the petitioner and beneficiary,
d. Photographs - one passport-sized photo, attached with completed and signed Form G-325A (Biographic Information) for both the petitioner and beneficiary,
e. Birth certificate of the beneficiary. (If the original birth certificate is not available, you must obtain a certification letter, on formal letterhead, from your local Public Security Bureau reporting the beneficiary's name, both parents' names, date and place of birth, and registration of birth.),
f. Copies of the biographic page of valid passports for both the petitioner and beneficiary

There is one line on the Guangzhou USCIS website that says:

“NOTE: The petitioner is required to bring copies and originals when filing. Originals will be returned to the petitioner after certifications of the copies are completed.”

Does this mean that the original documents will be held by the USCIS for a specific period of time? When would the originals be returned?

Anybody with experience filing in Guangzhou and can specifically list what they sent would help very much.

Thanks

Good Morning,

I filed an DCF in GZ about 6 weeks ago.

When I submitted the docs that morning, i took a lot of stuff.

They specifically asked if some docs were originals, and I showed her the originals but submitted only copies. She stated she could not accept originals.

So bring the originals for them to view, but copies to submit.

Best Regards,

Wayne

What I would like to find out, is how long we wait after the I-130 petition is approved? Ours was approved in two days.

How does the consulate correspond with us after approval?

What will we receive from the consulate?

How long the entire process is taking now?
