In order to get a police clearance letter/certificate, i followed the below procedure:

1. Go to the US embassy, (get an appointment by email by emailing RiyadhIV@state.gov). They will give you a request letter to get a police clearance.

2. Take that letter and go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and get it stamped for SR30 (it's a stick on stamp with a signature). (see attached pic)post-132781-0-27995300-1358756332_thumb.jpg

3. Now take that stamped letter and go to the Deera Police Department of Criminal Investigation. (it took me an hour to find it in Deerah so below is the link to the map).

There is an entrance on the left, with a blue door (see attached picture)post-132781-0-47886400-1358756070_thumb.jpg

They will fingerprint you with INK!!! and will give you a return slip. My date was after 2 days, and I got the clearance letter in Arabic with a stamp saying "No criminal record"

4. Have this translated by any authorized translator (5-10 offices on the crossing of Tahlia & Olaya Street) Will cost you around SR50

Ur Done!!!!

Hi Mishaal,

At last someone from Saudi! I'm the petitioner and I'm American/Saudi too. I have a question away from what you are saying here. It's regarding the correspondence address. What address did you use, I gave them a Saudi P.O. Box address and unfortunately it was not accepted. I have no relatives in the US. So I really don't know what to do. I have not received the NOA1 yet or the I-797 because of this address problem that we have. I called last week and gave them a US postal address I set up with ARAMEX. I hope it will work this time.

* The love story *

2008 -We met online

07/03/12. -civil marriage.

21/08/12. -wedding party

* Filing the I-130 *

15/11/12. - sent the I-130 via DHL

21/11/12. - NOA1 (by email)

* The struggle with address change *

01/09/2013 - I -797 was returned back as it was undeliverable.

01/14/2013 - changed my address to a Saudi P.O. Box by filling an AR-11 form ( I was instructed to fill out this form ).

I waited two week for my address to be updated but nothing happened :(

01/30/2013 - I called to updated my address for the second time. This time I gave them a US P.O. Box address that I set

up with ARAMEX. I should receive the I -797 form in the mail within two weeks.(I hope!)

01/04/2013 - The new US address was accepted. hooray!

Hi,

I'm actually Pakistani, born & bred in KSA. My wife is American & she's my petitioner. The petitioner HAS to be a domicile in the US, i.e., must be living there for 2 years, or show proof of living there on and off. (according to the rules) but they don't pay too much attention to that. My wife stays with me in Riyadh but has a permanent address (house) in the US.

For the I-130, the address must be US. Either give the address of a friend, or courier service like u did, or hire a lawyer/attorney ($100-500) for the entire process and his/her address will be used. The NOA2 (I-797) took me 4 months to get :-/ that's just under the 5 month average :)

It's a pleasure helping out. If he has any questions, he's free to contact me as I've gone and am going thru the entire process with all the nitty gritty details.

I just sent the DS-230 and I-864 forms last week.

So now it's a waiting game for me, + the medical which I will write about in a few weeks.

:)

You also have a very Saudi name too. My husband is Syrian born and raised in Saudi as well.

I hope that the ARAMEX address works. I still have to wait two weeks to see if I will receive anything.

Best of luck!

Sorry, the correct link for Ministry of Foreign Affairs is:

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=214322513481625547230.0004d3c7a27a90c5b0b20

For the request letter, you need to email them (IVRiyadh@statve.gov) that you need a police request letter. They will email back within a day or 2 and give you an appointment date. THAT reply you have to print to get into the embassy.

You need to have an approved i-130 first of all.

Hi again..what do you mean "You need to have an approved I-130? we are currently on NVC stage and about to send in our IV bill because I believe it was listed as one of the requirement to send in police clearance. Or you meant until we have our case complete on NVC? Please reply back..and kindly clarify the email address because it is different from the one you first post. Thank you so much!

Try this. Or search for its full name in google maps. The area is Nasseriyah, far away from the Diplomatic Quarters where the US embassy is.

Approved I-130 means you got the approval letter :) and now they instructed you to fill the DS-230 for IV. Ur set, no need to worry.

Yea the email address posted 1st is correct. RiyadhIV@state.gov not the second one.

It's all on their Riyadh website.

Guys,

I need some help. I am the petitioner, American citizen in Jeddah. On the US Jeddah Consulate website, it mentions i need the following to request a police letter:

1. Case number

2. Show proof of legal status in the Kingdom

3. A letter from NVC requesting a police clearance letter

Point # 3: I spoke to NVC 3 times and they ppl there said we do not send out requests asking for a police letter. Just take your case number and that should be fine.

Can anyone here help me regarding this matter? What did you all do for point # 3?

Thank you very much!
