Our 5 month processing time passed on New Years Eve with the CSC. I called on the 29th and the woman said I have to wait until the 31st passes and call again and they can give me more information. I am going to call tomorrow (the 2nd) when they are open but I don't know what they are going to tell me. Based on timelines here they are more or less on time and people that filed around the same time as us are already approved. I am not too worried about getting it but as you have all felt it is just a nerve wracking time and I want to know how much longer we have to wait. What have people heard from USCIS once they called after the processing time passed? Also, did you get your approval online first, at USCIS, or via mail?

THANKS!

I got my approval from VSC yesterday, 7 months for K-1. I am sooo relieved. I had checked the website early that morning and there was no update. In the afternoon I got a text and email. They were sent at the same time: 4:15pm. The text stated to check the website and email said I am approved. Later that same day I got another text and email for the post decision activity.

I called USCIS today and spoke with a Tier 2. They are processing 07/17 K-1's. This is disheartening as when I called on 12/20 they were processing 07/16! He said because of the deferred action applications, they have moved personnel which is causing a slow down. I specifically asked if they were processing those applications ahead of the others and he said no but because there are so many they had to move staff around causing a slow down. He told me to expect it to take at least until the end of the month! Also, even though CSC updated their website today and it says 5 months, he said not to go by that because they go by dates. Sorry if I'm rambling, I am SO.DISAPPOINTED. I know that there are others who have waited longer but those of us at CSC had 5 month expectations and it is a major let down. I couldn't even put in a service request because my petition isn't past their processing date. :(

Thank you for the update, but not what any of us wanted to hear. :(

I spoke with USCIS yesterday and they are still on July 17th...it is taking them about a week to process each day. Big bummer but still keeping a positive mindset!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to jump into the conversation. We are going through the CSC, and got the NOA 1 on July 30, 2012 and no movement yet for us either... 5 more days and we are counting on 6 months!! Just keep your heads up, the papers will come soon enough! I assume it will take another month.

I have called about once a week for the last two weeks and Monday the 7th I tried to put in a service request. They said I can't because we are inside the 15 days (our NOA1 is July 31st and they are working on the 17th) so "technically" we should have a response before the 15 day window an officer has to contact us about the service request. I told the woman that made no sense because I know they won't be on to July 31st by then as they have been working on July 17th since the 3rd of January. It is just frustrating that there is no straight answer to when this initial process will be over. Our July 6th wedding is quickly approaching and I am stressing out that there might be no groom!
