Single certificate vs non-marriage certificate

Hello all,

I have a question. My fiance and I have ALL of the evidence and required documents ready for the interview with one problem. We do not understand the certificate used to provide evidence she is single. She has called the government office of marriage for documentation multiple times now and they have told her they cannot provide this information. (the office her Hukou is documented with) They told her that they do not provide any kind of documentation that states she is single or not been married for her entire life. What they can provide is that she has not been married for the last year (11-23-11 through 11-23-12) It is something called a non-marital certificate. That is ALL they will provide. Is this good enough? They cannot provide any kind of "single certificate" they state She has been to the office about 10 times now to try and get the documentation and they simple say NO! Maybe we are asking for the wrong documentation? What if they ask her if she was married the past beyond this year? Sure - she can say no but I realize its not what you say but what you can prove. I am not sure what to do about this or if it is even a real problem? Does anyone have any good suggestions? It would be very upsetting to go through all of this process and be at the finish line only to be stopped by only being supplied with the non-marital certificate. Thanks for the help in advance

Yes - thank you kindly for the reply  That was my original post but it still did not provide the answer I am looking for. I guess I need to know what this certificate looks like and if we have the same thing. My Fiances certificate just states that she was not married between 11-23-11 and 11-23-12. That is all they will provide us. She will go get that certificate notarized and put it in her book. I am hoping that this is good enough but still confused as to why this would be such a hard thing.

Thank you for the response - I certainly hope you are correct =) We sent an email to the embassy but they simple provided a very vague answer. "Your fiance simple needs a certificate that states she is single". She is from Shenzhen and the marriage office was not very help in this matter at all but then again maybe we have what we need and the wording is just a little different. Thank you for the help

if those are her only dates, then I'll suggest she moved to Shenzhen and got a new hukuo book.

The marriage agency and police office can only report on what they know - so if new hukuo, in new hukuo city, that's it.

for the 'single certificate' I think you'll be ok.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Well I can't sneak anything past you right? LOL You are 100% correct. She has actually lived in Shenzhen for about five years but she is originally from Guiyang. She registered her hukuo with Shenzhen as soon as she moved so were hoping a five year period would be helpful =) We just want to make sure we can prove 100% of the information that we provide with no exceptions =) Thank you again for the response :D

Is this his website? :help:

http://www.marcellislaw.com/

Might be worth it for her to take a trip to visit his office in Guz and pay a fee to have them look over her document package she has prepared. She is only a two hour train ride away which is nothing for her. I feel fairly confident about it but for piece of mind in something this emotional might be worth it
