Getting Packages Ready

Hi Guys,

Even though I know I will most likely not get an approval (NOA2) until Dec. I would like to get my ducks in a row for the next steps.

I would like to have all my NVC documents ready in express envelopes ready to go. I noticed in the guide it says to send a copy of all documents in the package, is this accurate? Do I need to send the list of Docs for AOS and IV Package and in addition copies of all?

So far I have:

A draft of the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent only missing NVC case # and email address for NVC) email, used the template in the wiki.

For AOS:

- Filled I-864EZ

- My Tax Return Transcripts from IRS for years 2011, 2010, and 2009

- My pay stubs for most of the year, I am thinking I will submit copies of the latest 12 which accounts for 6 months of income.

I don't want to involve my HR office with the employment letter, I am hoping that the fact I have been working here for 2+ years together with the tax transcripts and pay stubs are enough.

Does this need a cover letter?

For IV:

- 4 Passport size pictures (do these need to be marked?)

- Marriage Cert (Registro Civil de Matrimonio - COLOMBIA)

- Birth Certificate - Applicant (Registro De Nacimiento - COLOMBIA)

- Copy of Bio Page Passport - Applicant (Colombian Passport 2019 exp date)

- Police Clearance - Applicant (Antecedentes Judiciales - COLOMBIA) printed from the police web site.

- DS-230 Part I (filled and signed by Applicant)

- DS-230 Part II (filled and NOT signed by applicant)

Does this need a cover page?

I would def appreciate any feedback, even more so if anything missing can be highlighted.

Thanks,

CF

I sent original copies and copies of her birth certificate and marriage certificate only. On ALL of the forms on the top right corner, I put the BGT case number. I also used a cover letter for all the AOS and IV packet (im pretty sure it wasn't necessary). I think you have enough for your proof of employment. The employment letter is good proof but Im pretty sure it's not necessary either.

Once you get to the NVC stage it will go by fast! Good luck!!!

I will be sending originals for the NVC stage for IV packet. The Registro Civil de Matriomio HAS to be the long version, not the version that was sent with the I-130 packet. Cover pages are not necessary but a lot of people send them. Marking the pictures, that I'm not sure of.

One last very important thing that I forgot. You will first need to print the bar code sheet from the payment portal for both fees and that will be first page on top of each package.

Hello, once you get the NOA2, it will transferred to the NVC. From there first thing will be to get the case number, you will get an email with the receipt and invoice number so, you can pay for the I-864 processing (AOS), once the status has changed to "PAID" you will see a link so you can print a Barcoded Letter which, will go on top of the package you will mail to the address indicated on the same letter. I think you have to send proof of your citizenship along with the I-864 (copy of Birth certificate, passport, etc.). I sent tax transcripts and paystubs, no letter from my employee ( I don't want him involved) and seemed to be enough. Meanwhile, the 3032 is being processed and, once it is accepted, and you are the registered agent,an invoice will be generated so you can pay the DS-230 processing fee.

As far as the DS-230 goes:

Get more pictures, you will need 2 at the lab, 2 at the doctor, and two at the embassy, but send in the number that they asked you for. Write down her full name in the back of the photos.Make sure the size is the correct one (2"X2")I believe the size for a colombian passport photo in Colombia is not the same as ours. also, include a copy of your proof of citizenship for good measure. You will be sending the original documents along with a photocopy of each in a packet, starting with a cover letter that will be generated once the status of the payment has changed to "PAID", to the address indicated in said letter. My wife was just approved the first of the month, so I can tell you what I did. If you need info for the actual interview, ring again, i will be happy to help you

Actually, the long version refers , mostly, to the birth certificate, most of them are handwritten and have the parents and gran parents information, which, is what the NVC likes to see. Ask at the notaria if the copy that you have is fit for Visa, they will tell you. The embassy insists that copies submitted should be "copia del Folio", a copy straight from the book where your "registro civil de nacimiento" is. that's what they call long version. As far as the Marriage certificate, the notaria that married us, uses only one version which always is out of the book and, according to the Notary, most modern notaries do that. After we got married and the process at the notaria ended, the notary gave us a copy of the marriage contract, with strict instructions to take good care of it because, there were no other copies. We took that to the interview but, we were not asked for it. Actually, I believe that once you are scheduled for an interview, they will hardly ask you anything because, with this type of visa, the presumption of immigrating has been eliminated since, they already know you are immigrating, so, by the time you have been scheduled for an interview your chances for approval are extremely good.

I did it just to be on the safe side, I also received my NOA1 notice by text and email. But when I opened my account in USCIS they were set to off, so i just changed them to ON. It worked so im happy I did that.

USCIS:
