U.S. ARMY BRIGADIER GENERAL ARRESTED ON A LITANY OF SEX CHARGES

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (TheBlaze/AP) — An Army brigadier general has been charged with forcible sodomy and other offenses after being sent home from Afghanistan.

The Fayetteville Observer was the first to report Wednesday that Brig. Gen. Jeffrey A. Sinclair faces possible courts martial on charges that include forced sex, possessing pornography and alcohol while deployed, engaging in inappropriate relationships and misusing a government travel charge card.

Other possible charges, the Observer reports, could include mistreatment of subordinates, conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman, filing fraudulent claims, and engaging in conduct “prejudicial to good order and discipline, or of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces.”

Sinclair, who served as deputy commander in charge of logistics and support for the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan, was sent home in May because of the allegations, the officials said. He had arrived in Afghanistan for his deployment in September 2011, but had been serving as the division’s deputy commander since July 2010.

Fort Bragg spokesman Col. Kevin Arata confirmed that the charges were filed Wednesday morning.

“The purpose of the hearing is to determine the merits and seriousness of the charges, so as to make recommendations on whether the matter should proceed to trial or not,” he reportedly commented.

Sinclair, who has been in the Army for 27 years, was serving his third deployment to Afghanistan. He had also served one tour in Iraq, as well as tours in the first Gulf war.

Army officials have scheduled a news conference for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

I just saw a brief report in the news on this. It referred to some of the charges having to do with FEMALE subordinates! Don't know if that precludes the possibility that homosexual issues may still be involved but it seems likely. Just as an FYI, the term 'sodomy' as used in legal documents, refers to many sexual acts other than 'normal' #######/####### penetration. It includes such things as oral sex for instance. So all those out there that immediately jumped on this as some sort of proof of the repeal of DADT being a bad idea got this wrong in multiple ways!

You could be right..... but according to USMJ, -Penetration of the ####### , however slight is rape. How many guys could be so close to the sweet-spot, but not touch?

Yet we see no charge of rape.....even Clinton did not have that much discipline.

Who cares? Spelling is not a measurement of intelligence, nor is it an indication of the quality of education a person has had. Even if it did, it's not Danno's fault, but an example of failed public school system that allowed Danno to fall through the cracks.
