hi everyone. We are still waiting for my fiancee package 3 from Ho Chi Minh Consulate. i received a letter from NVC stated that my case had been sent to Ho Chi Minh Consulate on Feb 24,2012. it has been more than a month and we are still waiting. I called NVC today and they do not tell me anything, except contact the consulate there. Is it typical for them to take this long? i will leave for Viet Nam in 2 days, so i hope to get all the paperwork ready first. I already have the updated I-134 package and a new letter of intent in hand. Do i have to get anything else ready? Thanks for your help.

Op - Per Scott's comment, Instruction Package for K1 Visa (formerly known as package 3) can be found at the following location:

http://hochiminh.usconsulate.gov/iv/forms/package.html

When you call the DOS and they tell you the package has been sent, you can actually go to consulate and drop off Forms DS-2001 and DS-230 Part I (DS 2001) is at bottom of instructions.

My fiancee at the time never received package 3.

Best wishes!

i mistakenly read you called nvc as you calling dos...but yea i'm guessing when you call dos there's a good chance they've sent the packet 3 already. get used to the dos #s. you'll be calling them wondering where the appointment letter is also  .

the packet 3/4 link scott gave is a good checklist of what you need.

thanks everyone. what will be the best way to send the forms to the consulate? Email, Fax, or hand deliver? I do not trust the postal service there.

for me.. see post 10 above
