It is now over two weeks since we received our NOA2 from Vermont. Roughly how long does it usually take for the Embassy to receive the details. I e-mailed NVC a week ago asking this question but so far have not received a reply. Should I call them as it appears that they are easier to speak to than the USCIS.

From the document I offered you:

Get your LND case number from the NVC without waiting on their letter.

You can call the NVC and ask your new case number. Call (603) 334-0700, press 1, then 5 to speak to a person. Have your EAC or WAC number ready. DO NOT enter your case number into the automated system. A fiancé case K1 is not put in the system and it will always say the case is not found. Speak to a person. They can confirm when your file was received by NVC and when forwarded to the embassy. They can give you your new LND case number.

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM (EST).

Best time to call is 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM to 12:00 PM ( EST)

Note: Just so you don’t get confused by VJ posts. People getting a spouse visa CR1 will have most of their greencard application items processed at the NVC. They send documents there and pay fees there. Those are the cases that stay at NVC a few weeks and are found in the automated system.

Yes, call them. Sometimes applications go through secondary screening at NVC. Most are in and out within a few days, but some of them sit for 4'ish weeks. The NVC is pretty good. If your app is there, they will tell you when they received it and whether or not it's been sent to the embassy. Sometimes they say it's being reviewed. That's nothing to worry about. Eventually, it moves. :)

By the way, this was our timeline for NVC, but ours was on the slow side. No reason for the delay, either, as far as we knew. Just secondary screening. (shrug)

; I received NOA2 May 31st and NVC received it 6 days later (June 6th, 2011).

And this woman said they will send out the petition to Amsterdam within a couple of days... I hope so.. After 7 months waiting for our NOA2, I don't feel like waiting a month on them before they send it out  .

Btw, you should call NVC 7 days after receiving NOA2.
