Hi, I want to share my experiences from the beginning of the process at the USCIS until now in the NVC. I hope there is another member who can share stories about similar cases here.

USCIS stage:

- My husband (as a petitioner) submitted form I-130 in mid-June 2010, and we get the NOA1 (Notice of Action) from USCIS on July 1st 2010. We do not progress at all for nearly 3 months after the NOA1.

- On October 1st 2010, we got a letter from USCIS about the lack of evidence for our case. This is RFE (Request for Evidence). My photos does not meet the requirements. Check the photo requirements here http://travel.state.gov/visa/visaphotoreq/visaphotoreq_5334.html

- After the RFE our case got stuck in USCIS for about 4 months. I read the latest news on the news page of the USCIS web site in early-February 2011, said that Texas Service Center has over load, so that the cases they handle should be sent to another service center. This explains why our case do not progress, they haven't even touched it!

- Thankfully not long after that, we got our NOA2 (approval) on March 28th 2011.

NVC stage:

- I received a letter from the NVC on May 7th 2011, where as in the letter written April 14th 2011. This shows how long it takes to get that letter in the hands of receiver (beneficial), this is really waste our precious time. The contents of this letter tells us that NVC is processing the visa petition that has been filed. In the letter also notified my NVC case number. Also notified my Invoice ID number and my Beneficiary ID number, which I really don't know for what.

- On May 8th 2011, I sent DS-3032 to choose address and agent to the NVC by email. I copied the email template from here http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form. I've got a reply for this email on May 10th 2011.

- My husband make a payment for AOS fee on May 8th 2011 by online as much as $88 through this link http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3906.html. This is take 3 days for the process, the status is PAID on May 11th 2011. We also received an email from the NVC notified our barcode cover sheet after that.

- On May 11th 2011, we pay for IV (Immigrant Visa) fee as much as $404. The status is PAID on May 13th 2011. We've got another email notified barcode cover sheet.

- On May 14th 2011, we sent the form I-864 and some of the documents requested, include I-864 cover letter, barcode cover sheet, letter of employment, one bundle of tax from the workplace for the last 3 years, payment stubs in the past 1 year.

From the last action we have done, we haven't received email or notification from the NVC regarding further action. We have fill out form DS-230 and we also have prepared several documents to be sent along with it, but we still don't know when to send it. Whether now we can send it or we have to wait for further notification/email from NVC??

I want to find out what can I do now, than just wait and waste time (which is already wasted a lot) for things that are not necessary. I would be very grateful if you would like to share experiences and things that you have been through related to this issue. Or maybe this post can be useful for some of you :)

-warm regards-

You can send in the documents for IV package now! Put the barcode sheet and everything requested. After that NVC will process your documents and in 20 business days (or less my case took 17 business days) they will close your case. Few days later they will assign an interview date! Good luck!
