Hi everybody

We reached the 5 month point on our application 2 days ago and our lawyer contacted VSC and spoke with a supervisor to ask for a 'Service request'. The response was as follows:

'The Vermont Service Center is currently working on 08/21/2011 applications, which is 23 days away from your date of 09/13/2010. The supervisor asked that VSC be given those days to get to your application before doing a "service request".'

As is clear from previous enquiries to VSC by others on this forum, it is difficult to know how accurate this information is but I thought it useful to share our latest update.

I am sorry to read about your not-very-encouraging news. It seems as though VSC petitions are routinely taking closer to 6 months (or more) to be processed rather than 5 month processing estimate. Best wishes! (F)

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

I called today to change my address and was told they were currently at 6 months for approvals. Sorry for the bad news. I live in Vermont and this frustrates me even more. :(

I called today and was informed that VSC is currently processing applictaions received August 21. They also said they look at 30 day baches...so anything between Aug 21 and Sept 21 is being worked.

As our application was received 16 Sept, they can't officially do anything until they are processing applications received 17 Sept...because only then would ours be considered late. So close, yet still so far!

K1 Process:

NOA1 17 Sept 10

Touched 3 Oct 10

Placed Service Request 25 March 11

NOA2 4 April 11

Left NVC 15 April 11

Packet 3 letter dated 19 April 11

Packet 3 response sent 6 May 11

Interview 26 May 11

K1 received 1 June 11

Entered US 26 June 11

Married 6 August 11

OK, so that would explain why there are several approvals from September filers, if they work in 1 month batches.

; I'm also sure that they are working in one month batches.

They told you that they are working on August 21st filers, but what I do is not to look at Igor's list like most of yall do nor listen carefully to the dates they say they are approving, but look at the the dates (NOA1) on the "immigration timelines" from whom has been approved (NOA2).

And then you can see as well that they approve filers (August-September/1st/2nd week).

It's just a VERY frustrating process. I feel so discouraged and depressed now. My petition was rec'd on 12/27/10 but b/c of a problem with my payment, it didn't clear until 1/18/11. How is it that CSC seems so much faster that VSC? I just don't know how to cope with the possibility of having to wait 6 months for the NOA2 ... then to wait longer for the medical/interview for my fiance. This is just SO frustrating!!!

*tears*

Thanks,

Brandy
