Hi,

I want to ask you some questions, I hope you can help me. When you applied for your SSN and state ID what family name did you used?is it your husband's or your maiden name still? I entered US thru K1 too, we get married last Sept 8, 2010, when we went to SSA for my SSN they told me I have to go to immigrition first so their records will match because I already get married. Please help me as I am confused now, mu hubby and wants to open a joint account but we cannot yet as I don't have ID in my married name yet

That's BS. What SSA office told you this? If you want to apply for your SSN in your married name and you have not been in the U.S. 76 days or more on Monday, go back to the office and ask to speak with a manager if they don't let you apply.
