Hello :)

I have a question about Application for travel document application. The instructions say I have to send a copy of a document issued by USCIS to show the status in US and an explanation showing the circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole. Or if I'm applying for adjustment of status to send in a receipt of AOS forms. Do I just ignore these since I don't have any documents issued by USCIS? Unless my visa is one? Thanks for your help?

I sent this, put together with a giant paperclip and got no RFE:

Form I-131

Photographs (2) of immigrant (passport type)

Statement of circumstances that warrant issuance of advance parole

Photocopy of passport biographical page and K1 visa page

Photocopy of Form I-94 Arrival/Departure record

The things listed are just for the I-131. You will repeat some of the same things with the AOS and EAD applications, then all three will go in the same envelope to the Chicago Lockbox.

For the I-131's "Documents issued by USCIS showing present status in the United States" I included photocopies of my K-1 visa, the entry stamp from my K-1 entry, my I-94 from my K-1 entry, and photocopies of any entry stamps from previous entries to the US. The last may not have been strictly necessary, but the AOS packet was already 70+ pages, so what's one more? :P

In addition to the requested 2 passport photos, I also included as a photo identity document a photocopy of the biographic page from my Canadian passport.

That was everything I included with the I-131 part of my AOS packet and it got approved in 46 days, no problem.

DON'T PANIC

I'm in Michigan and I'm sending AOS/EAD/AP together today. I was supposed to have sent it a month ago, but there was some screw up with our marriage certificate, so we had to wait longer. I will fill out the timeline soon, thanks :)
