Comments : We didn't receive Packet 4 (letter with the interview date and time) so we emailed the consulate and they emailed us the interview date and time. The original letter was mailed to us January 4, 2007 (the letter was never received).

We got lucky, the whole visa process, though slow, went smoothly.

Upon arrival into the US, my fiance filed for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD), so he could work and be paid in the US - cost was $180.00. He received his EAD; however, the EAD voided on the same day as his Fiance Visa voided. We then had to re-apply for his EAD when we filed his I-485, which cost us another $180.00. Had we known, we would not have filed the first application for the EAD and just waited until we filed the I-485 to save $180.00.

Comments : We did not receive a request for an interview date; however, soon after the Biometrics appointment, in the mail, we received the approval for the lifting of his conditions. He received his greencard in the mail soon after with no issues. His passport expired a year after, and we were able to renew that with no issues and fly back to Australia and back home with no issues. We never received anthing, paperwork or stamp, reguarding the I-551 stamp for his passport, but had no issues. Also, our daughter who was born before the removal of his conditions, we were able to get Australian citizenship as well as US citizenship. :)

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
