Hey guys! We’re not far behind your timeline. Have you heard whether or not the NVC has received your case as yet? :)

Hi Guys, nothing yet. Bit worried that it is taking so long....
GeorgieB on 2018-10-31 said:
Yeah, it's a painful wait hey? I have been annoying them with phone calls but still no luck and today marks 4 weeks exactly since our NOA2. The hardest bit is watching the others receive their case number from the NVC within 2 weeks! They're all based in Sydney though... I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I'll let you know if we hear anything about our case if you like! :)
GeorgieB on 2018-10-31 said:
Hey guys, I just called them and they received our case from the USCIS yesterday!
blank avatar Deon And Sandra on 2018-10-31 said:
Wow, congratulations.... Why did it take so long????? I want to be in the US before Christmas... May I ask who you called and what is the number. Also do we have to go to Sydney for the interview or can we do it in Melbourne/ Regards Deon 0447 628 451
GeorgieB on 2018-10-31 said:
Hey Deon! Not sure why it took the extra couple of weeks, but the wait was excruciating. I also wanted to be in the US by Xmas, but even with them receiving it yesterday, it seems a little unlikely. The phone number for the NVC in New Hampshire is 001116033340700 (if you’re calling from Aus). They’ll ask you for your USCIS receipt number. Let me know how you go! Cheers, Georgie

Hi Georgie, Quick question, do we have to go to Sydney for our interviews or can we do them here in Melbourne? Regards Deon
GeorgieB on 2018-11-05 said:
Hi Deon! We are yet to find out about that. I would think that we can go to the US embassy in Melbourne, but I know that the case is forwarded to Sydney initially. It seems crazy to me that we would have to fly to Sydney for an interview. Has the NVC received your case as yet?
blank avatar Deon And Sandra on 2018-11-05 said:
I don't know if the NVC have received our case yet..... My fiancé will call tomorrow. I kills me to see others fly through the process. Are you an Australian citizen?
GeorgieB on 2018-11-05 said:
She should definitely call, I am on it like a hawk! It’s just nice getting that confirmation that things are still progressing. And once you guys have your case number from the NVC, you can track it more closely, even see when the mail has been sent from the NVC to Australia. I am an Aussie citizen. Born & bred in Melbourne, with Australian parents. Same for you? Cheers, Georgie PS: 0413 087 027
GeorgieB on 2018-11-05 said:
Hi Deon, I just spoke to the NVC and they confirmed I will have to travel to Sydney for my interview. They don’t process the K1 applications in Melbourne unfortunately :(
blank avatar Deon And Sandra on 2018-11-06 said:
Hi Georgie, thank you for confirming that we have to travel to Sydney.... another expense :( Called NVC.... and they have not received our application. Not sure why both of ours took double the time that others took... very frustrating. I was born in South Africa - not sure if that is delaying it? I believe that once you have your NVC number you can go for the medical so when you get consulate notification you can book the first available appointment. Have you got your affidavit of support from your partner and AFP clearance?
GeorgieB on 2018-11-06 said:
I know, another expense indeed. I’m sorry to hear that they haven’t received your application yet. I know they say ‘up to 6 weeks’ but that’s no fair! I should hopefully have my AFP Certificate in the next few days. My partner will have the Affidavit of Support to me in the next couple of weeks when he is back from traveling, so I may as well just get the medical done now, then do the DS-160, then everything will be hopefully ready to go by the time I have my interview.

Wow, congratulations on your progress. Our application was finally received by the NVC on the 13th so I hope that they will send it by the 27th. Two questions> 1. Have you done your medical yet and how long did you have to wait for an appointment? Have you booked your interview yet, and what was the soonest appointment you could get? Really hope things go fast from here and that you are in the US by Christmas. Regards Deon
GeorgieB on 2018-11-19 said:
Thanks Deon! So excited - I may be having a white(ish) Christmas in Texas after all :) I went and had a blood test at my normal GP last week to check my immunity levels for certain diseases (serology report) which I am going to take to my US Visa doctor appointment on Friday this week. I only had to wait 1 week to get an appointment with Dr Charles Okraglik at Toorak Village Medical Centre. I just paid my visa fee about 20 minutes ago and now am waiting to receive the second lot of communication from the embassy with my interview date!

You will be in the US for Christmas, not sure about it being white. I was in Seattle last year Christmas and it started snowing on Christmas eve. Fingers crossed. Please keep me updated on your progress, especially the timing of your appointment. Regards Deon

Hi Georgie, Any further progress.... interview date?
GeorgieB on 2018-11-22 said:
Hi Deon, not yet! Arrrgh! They have the day off today in Sydney due to Thanksgiving, so I have all my fingers and toes crossed that tomorrow will be my lucky day and I’ll get the email with an interview date!
blank avatar Deon And Sandra on 2018-11-23 said:
Hi Georgie, congratulations on your interview date.... Could you choose your date or were you just given a date. If you could choose what was the earliest date you could get. Apologies for all the questions but really desperate to know if I will be n the US for Christmas. Regards Deon
GeorgieB on 2018-11-23 said:
Hey Deon! Yep, had my medical this morning, got a flu vacc and a tetanus/hooping cough vacc, blood test, urine sample, chest X-ray) and as soon as I left the appointment I had received an email with an interview date. I didn’t get to choose it - the embassy chooses for you and I presume they give you the earliest available. Mine is at 8am in 3 weeks. No need to apologise for the questions!
blank avatar Deon And Sandra on 2018-11-26 said:
Hi Georgie, You must be getting really excited knowing that you will have your visa before Christmas. How did you book your interview without a interview date. When I phoned to book the medical the lady said that I needed a letter from the embassy and a interview date?
GeorgieB on 2018-11-26 said:
Hey Deon :) Yes, super excited! I booked my medical before receiving my letter from the embassy with an interview date. I needed to bring the notification from NVC that showed my case number. I went to see Dr Charles in Toorak though - is that the place you have rung? Have you received the notification from the NVC that your case has been forwarded to Sydney yet? I'm sure you know this already but you can check your case status here: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== As soon as you see the status 'In Transit' on the above website when you enter your case number, you'd be safe to get your medical stuff done. When I left my medical appointment, I logged onto my email and had received the 'packet 4' notification from them that told me when my interview date was. You unfortunately don't get to choose the date yourself, they'll just select a date and time for you. Hope that helps? :)

It does, thank you.

Hi Georgie, Our application is finally here. Quick question, I am completing the USA TRAVEL Docs page and it asks me for a priority date just above the NVC number. Do you know what that is?
GeorgieB on 2018-12-04 said:
GeorgieB on 2018-12-04 said:
Hi Deon! Yes, your priority date is the date when your i-129f was filed. It will be listed on the initial letter/email notification that Sandra received from the USCIS after she posted your petition off, way back in March this year :)
GeorgieB on 2019-03-22 said:
Hey Deon! Have been meaning to ask how everything went? Hope you & Sandra are happy and settled in Seattle already :)

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
