Event Description

Embassy Review : I arrived at around 7:15am at the embassy and there was already a line of about 15 people. There was no staff from the embassy out yet so I just joined the line. I waited about 30 minutes and once the staff had finished setting up the desks they asked if any immigrant visa applications can make their way down to the front. Here I showed them my interview letter, ds-160 and passport.

You then go into airport style security - you can take mobiles and I had a messenger bag with me. Once through this I made my way into the embassy and got in just before 8am.

I went up to the reception and showed my interview letter and they assigned me I903 and was told to wait in waiting area.

The announcement system on the big screen was not working so they were calling people on a loud speaker. Everything was still running very efficiently. I waited around 15 minutes and was called up to the first window. Here a very polite British man asked me for my interview letter, birth certificate, passport, affidavit of support, passport picture and police certificate one at a time. He then asked me how long ago my picture was taken and if I had any travel plans. He then took my finger prints and asked me to sit back down.

Around 50 minutes later I was called to the next window for the interview. I was interviewed by a very polite but direct American Woman. She took my fingerprints and I swore the oath. I was then asked the following questions:

How did you meet your fiancée?
Where is she now?
Have I been married before?
Do I have any kids?
What does she do for a living?
What do I do for living?

It was all done in a conversational way. She then typed something in the computer, wrote something down and said "Right sir you have been approved!" She told me I would get my visa in 2 weeks via the courier.

Overall a very pleasant and efficient process. I was in and out of the building in around 90minutes

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
