  1. Hi, Anyone from Ghana who has traveled to the States using a B-1/B-2 visa? Can you give any pointers or explain the process. My husband and I have decided to apply for this visa since it seems as if we will not see one another again for another year because of CR-1 delays. I plan to travel to Ghana in August for my yearly trip but would like him to be able to travel back with me when I leave and stay with me for the length of the tourist visa. He has no problem going back and has somewhat strong ties. But I'm not sure if it is enough! Any and all help is greatly appreciated from people who have been through the process from Ghana. I understand it being a hard country to get approved for visas so I dont need that information just information about the process and tips on how to guarantee an approval. Thank you in advance.
  2. Hello, this is my first post! Today we received the receipt of acceptance for the I-130. I am a U.S citizen and I am bringing my Canadian husband to the U.S. We planned a trip to Disneyland (in August 2018) with our whole Canadian family and now we’re concerned that we’ll need to cancel our trip. I’m pretty sure it will still be processing at that time since the application was sent to the Texas center and the wait time is at least 7 months. Should he apply for a B-2 visa? Would you attempt entering the U.S? What documents would you recommend him to bring when trying to enter?
  3. I want to visit my fiance who is in the US for 1 month, he will apply for I-129F at the end of this month, question is; would I get a higher approval chance if I show them evidence that my fiance applied for I-129F, therefore, I'm not going there to get married to him or overstay? I don't have $4-5,000 in my bank, I'm a freelance web developer (not legal, in Lebanon) and I don't go to college, would telling them that my fiance is in the states, I want to visit him and showing them that he has already started the process of K-1 sufficient proof that I won't overstay? Thanks.
  4. HI Everyone, I have a random question concerning my step kids. My husband is still waiting for his adjustment of status since December 2016. Unfortunately, I don't see us receiving it any time too soon. In the meantime we're desperate to see the kids! I've been to Dominican Republic several times but it would make my husband super happy to see them himself as well. What should we do so they can come to visit for the summer? Would they really need to go through the whole visa process as well??? THANK YOU!
  5. Hello everyone I'm a Canadian citizen and my husband filed the i-130 just last Tuesday. After his next visit to visit me in the summer, he won't have any vacation time left to take off from work. Unless I can visit him, we won't be able to see each other until I have my visa I'm sure that most of you understand how difficult that would be. I've read that as long as I have strong ties to Canada to prove my intent to return, it shouldn't be a problem to enter the U.S. I'm currently a college student but I'm graduating in July. I'm living with my parents at the moment and am unemployed as I've been focusing on my studies. The only proof I can think of is a continuing education course that I will most likely enroll in from September to November. Along with my itinerary to show my return flight, do you think that would be sufficient evidence to show that I'll be coming back? I'll probably visit for about 6-8 weeks. I know that it's never guaranteed, but what do you guys think? Any experiences to share? Thanks!
  6. Hi everyone! My fiance is hoping to visit me in June and we are in the process of our K1 Visa. They received it February 16th but my question is, can he visit from the UK and if so what does he need to bring? Thank you! Hannah
  7. Hi All, I'm new on here so please accept apologies if this has already been addressed/asked before or I've put this in the wrong category! I'm a UK Born Citizen, My fiance is a US Born Citizen, we have been dating for 5 months & i visited him for the first time in September. We spent 2 weeks together, it was magical & we new from then we didn't want anyone else ever & we just clicked. Any way, on the day of leaving i got emotional & when at the airport i asked him to marry me (Yes a woman asked a man to marry her-i can see how this looks & it makes me look desperate.) he said yes. Bare in mind we spoke about this whilst i was there and we nearly got married in the two weeks i was there but things kept coming up & getting in the way. So from then on we new we were engaged & that we needed to look at the ways i can remain or leave & return permanently. On my return home we've been looking at K1 & CR1 visa's & we cannot determine which is the quicker more financially sensible. This is where you all come in & voice your opinion - would it be easier and more financially viable to marry on my next visit on the 22nd December & return home (my return flight is on the 6th January) then my partner file for CR1 or do we go down the K1 visa route & then AOS to CR1 once i'm there? I have no plans to stay once we are wed. We were looking and planning on having an elopement wedding & my partner just wants to marry me as soon as i'm back with him, he stated he would marry me in Hocking hills, Ohio or on the beach, gulf shores (Alabama). The only problem is looking at K1 & CR1 visa processing times the K1 seems to be the faster approved & the CR1 means i would have the remain her upto 14 months (with constant visits) before i could enter as an Immigrant CR1 Approved. So everyone if you could help me with this.. I just would like someone to help me, as in financially more sensible but also the quicker route Thank you all in advance!!! T x
