Hi guys, My fiance and I are so confused and would really appreciate some advise. We are original K-1 filers, planning on revoking our i-129f and filing the Cr-1. Because of our personal situations, it would be hard to get married in my fiance's home country. And obviously, it would be a bad idea for him to come visit the US on his tourist visa and us getting married then. We don't have the time to wait out the 90 day rule, and I don't want to be walking on thin ice. We are considering going through Utah, which some sources say is considered as good as an in-person marriage and some sources say we still need to "consummate" the marriage after. It would be hard for me to go visit him at this point to do that. We could wait for a better time. I'm asking if it would be okay for him to come visit on his tourist visa for the purpose of consummating the marriage, or if he will be turned away. He has sufficient ties to his home country via family, school and work. And I don't foresee this being a problem since traditionally married people with pending Cr-1's are allowed to visit the US on tourist visas. I just want to cover all my basis so I'm asking you guys for your thoughts. Thank you so much for reading.

Hey folks, First time posting! I married my wife online last year, using the Utah online option. We were together before, during and after (no consummation issue). Utah process was excellent, except, there was errors on the certificate twice. I had it corrected the first time, but didn't pay enough attention to the second error... until now. Important fact: Utah can make modifications to the certificate data up to 3 months after the wedding, thereafter it is submitted to the files and a correction procedure must be followed which includes a copy being sent out, chaned them notarized, then resubmitted (read: delays, costs) Our certificate incorrectly noted that my partner was "in the county of" San Francisco, and my line is blank. In fact we were both together in Mexico when the Zoom wedding took place (which has been our holding location until we get GC) Does anyone have experience in having an incorrect line on a marriage certificate and being able to explain it? I imagine the language varies per state. I also understand that Utah has now modified theirs to include more specific language regards to origin and location at time. I am happy to work on having it corrected, but hoping it may be avoidable. It does seem besides the point. Also, the application that we plan to include with the certificate does clearly state she is from the Phillipines and all evidence including passport stamps indicate her location was Mexico. Thanks folks! BV

My husband and I got married via zoom Utah last month. I was booked on a flight to visit him in the usa for just one week to consumate 🤭 the marrage. My trip was only a week due to work commitments here for me uk. When I got to the airport they refused me at check-in and I was told that my marriage wasn't valid as i haven't been on the same soil as my husband since the marriage. The officer that questioned me told me that we could meet somewhere else or he could travel here to the UK. He took my husband's and my passport details and advised the check-in staff to off load me from the flight as I won't be travelling After arriving home I found out that my ESTA has now updated to Travel Not Authorised. Will this mean I cant get one again in the future? Devastated and distraught about this whole thing and not sure where to go now from this any advice would be great full. 🙏 Ps. I forgot to add the we are filing for CR1 for me to move usa at a later date approx 12 months time due to my work in the uk.
