Hi! I am a lawful permanent resident at the moment and will be filing my citizenship this May 2020. Also, I am getting married in the Philippines this April 2020. I am planning to petition my then spouse after I take my oath and get my certificate of naturalization. I need an advice whether to change my last name or not on my marriage certificate to be filed in the Philippines. Would this cause conflict when I apply for my citizenship? Should I just wait for my citizenship application to legally change my name? If so, what would be the effect of this when I petition my spouse after obtaining my citizenship knowing that my legal name would already be different from what is on the marriage certificate. Please help.
Can someone please help. My husband came to the US on a k1 visa. We married within the 90 days and put in the residency application. We are waiting on the interview and will be married for 2 years in a couple months. I know that he will be ale to become a US Citizen with 3 years due to marrying me. Now here comes the question are the 3 years after he has his residency in hand or from the date of the wedding without importance to the residency?
I am looking to move out of the USA by summer 2020 with my husband who is not a US citizen. However in the summer of 2016 I filled I-864 Affidavit of Support for my mom in order for her to get her residence. She was approved. Prior to me sponsoring her she had TPS. She began filling taxes in 2001. I currently have one sister that is a minor(13) and dependent on her. And another that is attending college. When I notify USCIS of a move change and they see it is no longer in the US could they launch some sort of inquiry? I am planning to attend school for a career change in the foreign country so my income for sponsorship will no longer meet the requirement. From my understanding even though I am in a foreign country I will have to file taxes every year for the US and with my income being severely reduced would this affect her status as a LPR? To my knowledge she hasn't used any public benefits after filing for LPR. She's used WIC in the past but has not really used any other services. She is planning to get her citizenship as soon as she can. Thank you for your help.
