  1. So my fiancés case finally reached Turkey today, he completed the ds-160 form. I just need to finish the I-134 forms. I have a few questions. my fiancé does not have a birth certificate as they do not receive any, will his jensia be sufficient? does he need to do his medical exam in Turkey or Iraq? He also has no vaccination documentation so will the appointment cover that or should he get that on his own in Iraq? since there are no mailing services where he lives how will he receive his visa? And if he receives it there in Turkey how long would that take? is it safe to go to Turkey 10 days prior to the interview and get his exam then? How early should he do that? also, should I have already received an email for the interview? How does that work? my fiancé has only cash as he is self employed, how might I prove this in the I-134? what should He bring to the interview other than the general checklist USCIS provides? my last question, is it okay if we have our wedding in Iraq before we legally marry in Arizona? All of our family is there and there’s no point in doing it in the US. So I’m hoping it’s alright im sorry this is so many questions I’m just very confused at the moment and do not want to mess up! Thank you so much in advance.
  2. Hello, my wife’s case was DQ’d on 09/21/2021 originally was supposed to be interviewed in Baghdad, Iraq, but was moved to US Embassy Ankara, Turkey. I applied for the I130 and my I130 was approved in two months. I sent everything to the NVC and we were approved documentarily. It seems like it’s taking forever. It’s almost 9 months now. I checked timelines for Turkish citizens and some are being interviewed within 4-6 months. Any info would be helpful and we are going to a lot of stress. Thank you and God bless
  3. Hello, I need help understanding the process of changing consulate locations for my fiancé's interview. I have only heard that they received the petition and it will likely be a few more months before it is accepted or denied. I filed an i-29f for a k1 visa in July 2021. My fiancé lives in Turkey as a student, and originally is from Morocco. I have been reading reviews and it seems like the Moroccan embassy denies a lot more than the Turkish one and has a lot more problems. Also, it would be more convenient since she is living in Turkey currently. Thanks so much for the help!
  4. Hello, my fiancé is from Morocco and lives in Turkey as a student. She is a third country national and I saw in a form that you have to be a citizen or have permanent residency in Turkey or you have to go through special steps as a Third Country National. Please help me know if this is still the case. I found this information while researching embassy changes on this form posting: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/759954-is-request-for-change-of-embassy-for-interview-possible/ "Due to health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 global pandemic, as of February 4, 2021, the U.S. Embassy in Ankara is prioritizing immigrant visa services for Turkish Citizens and Turkish residents. For Third Country Nationals (“TCNs”) who have Turkish resident permits, please email AnkaraIV@state.gov with the front and back of your Turkish resident permit so we can discuss the next steps. Unless there is a genuine humanitarian or medical emergency, the U.S. Embassy in Ankara is unable to provide visa services to TCNs who do not have Turkish resident permits" Thanks for all the help!
  5. I am just curious to know if anyone has interview scheduled at Embassy Ankara, Turkey without expedite or emergency. Our DQ was on 4/20 still waiting to hear from embassy. I saw one Turkish lawyer on Instagram said his 3 client have interview coming up in July but he didn't mention if it they were expedite or not.
  6. Hello everyone! This is my first time posting. I am a US citizen (also have Turkish citizenship) and currently living in the USA. I met my fiance through a family friend in the Fall of 2020. We maintained a long distance relationship for about 9 months. In the summer of 2021 I went to Turkey to meet my fiance and we decided to get engaged. We had a small engagement ceremony with both of our families in her house. After spending 3 weeks with her, I had to fly back to USA due to my job. Since my return to the USA, we have been video chatting literally everyday for hours. We now decided to get married but are in no rush. We don't have a significant preference on whether we get officially married in the USA or in Turkey. Nonetheless, our marriage ceremony will take place in Turkey with our families and friends likely in the summer of 2022. I am quite indecisive on whether to pursue a CR1 or K1 visa route. I have a very legitimate and prestigious job in the USA, thus we do not have any financial restraints. Namely, my fiance does not have to work in the USA or make money immediately. Our main priority is to bring my fiance to the USA as fast as possible. It has been really hard to be away from her and we really would like to be together ASAP. I know that with COVID-19 pandemic things have been slower than usual, which is expected. However, I am seeing an improvement in processing timelines. Turkish consulate currently processes and prioritized all K type and immigration visas. My fiance still has 8 months of college to go through before she can come to the USA. However, once she is done with school, we would like to be reunited promptly. If needed be, I can get married officially as soon as in January 2022 in Turkey or can delay it to pursue an official marriage in the USA once she arrives here. I apologize for the long thread but wanted to share as much as I could for the best guidance. Thank you in advance! I appreciate your time.
  7. Does anyone have an update on when the embassy in Ankara will resume routine visa services? Our K1 case has been stuck at the NVC since March 2021. When we inquired with the NVC they informed us they, “will not forward K1 visa petitions to Ankara until they resume routine visa services.” Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. Hi everyone, I'm brand new to this site so apologies if I'm in the wrong forum. I'm an American citizen (29, F) currently visiting my boyfriend in Turkey (he is a Turkish citizen). I will be returning home next month, and we are hoping to obtain a tourist visa so he can visit me in California as soon as possible. Does anyone have any information about how long this process may take, whether he will be able to schedule an interview any time soon, or any other tips? I've been told he shouldn't mention that he has an American girlfriend (lest we have to apply for a K1 visa instead - which we aren't yet ready to do), but it seems it would be difficult to provide them the necessary information to obtain a tourist visa without lying about that fact, which doesn't seem particularly wise. He spent a year in the US previously during college for educational purposes, and did not overstay his visa, so I figure that could give us an advantage in applying for a tourist visa? He has travelled abroad to other countries as well and never overstayed his visas there either. His entire family lives in Turkey, they are well-off and he has a good job + financial ties to his country, so I doubt he would have difficulty with that aspect of the visa; However, my biggest concerns are delays related to Covid and whether the embassies in Istanbul or Ankara are currently scheduling interviews in any sort of timely manner. We plan to move forward with the application, but when we have called the embassy the recorded message still says routine visa services are suspended.. Any help or advice is very much appreciated!
