  1. Good Afternoon Basically I've noticed quite a few people tend to book their interviews for dates shortly after their medicals. Well I've tried to see what date I would get if I booked my interview today it's the 21st of November. Nearly 3 weeks in the future. My medical is on the 15th. Is it alright to book the interview now or do I absolutely need to complete the medical then have a grueling 3 week wait for the interview? Thanks for your help Declan
  2. Hi you all!! I'm in a tricky situation because I sent my P3 today, and I wanted to pay the visa fee and schedule my interview for a few weeks, and I was really happy because earlier in the day I saw that the first available date was on November 5th which was great for us. But now, after only 2 or 3 hours, it changed to December 18th. Is that possible? We're freaking out because we can't wait that long. Also it says my credit card is denied, I don't get it. Someone from Argentina that can help me? Thank you!
  3. Hey everyone, So we just registered to get our interview and we are still waiting. Does anyone know how long the Johannesburg consulate takes to get the interview ball rolling?? Right now it states there are "No available appointments". Our email letter from the consulate on next steps for K-1 visa/instructions was sent on May 10th. Then it says something about 1-4 weeks to schedule interview from the date the NVC receives package from consulate, is this said "package" the DS-160 form?? I am totally lost on that bit. I am in hypervigilant mode and don't want to miss a thing! Thanks everyone for ANY help on these issues. Best, Megan
  4. Hi all, I have filed for AOS (from K1) on May 2017. My case was at "Scheduling your interview" for a year, and today it finally changed to "Interview Was Scheduled", but there is no date online with the time. I called USCIS but they are useless as usual saying I should call back in 14-30 days and the system might show some information, and that I generally simply have to wait for the mail notice with the interview date/time. Is that correct? How soon should I realistically expect to receive the letter in the mail, will it contain the exact interview date/time? What if I'm unavailable that day, can I reschedule? Thanks!
  5. Hi Everyone, In late January my Cuban fiancé and I had out K1 visa petition approved, but by that time to U.S. Embassy in Havana was closed, and all cases moved to Colombia. I have been trying to schedule an ASC appointment and interview using the online site https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/iv/ but there are literally no dates available to choose from. I have tried contacting them and have used the contact phone number listed on the site under "Contact Us", but they say they cannot provide information about the dates, since the U.S. Embassy in Colombia is responsible for the that, and they only have information about the individual cases. I check the site every day. What should I do? Has anyone else experienced this? My lawyer and a contact I have in the State Department have not been able to find anything out either. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, Now that our status is READY, we paid the DS160, and there are now no appointments available at the US embassy in Ghana. Anyone else encounter this issue?
  7. Hey guys! So I was super excited to see my status on CEAC's website change to READY this morning! I filled in my DS-160, scheduled my medical and started to fill in the notice of readiness form to book my interview, only to see the following text: 'The Immigrant Visa case number provided is not ready to schedule an appointment. If you have not received an appointment letter from the National Visa Center (NVC), you can check the status of your IV case at http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc.html.' The link is broken, so I can't use it to check my case. I haven't received my appointment letter from NVC or anything from London, but from what I gathered you can wait ages for those and it's ok to just start scheduling as soon as your case status is 'ready', right? If so, how come it's saying I can't schedule my interview yet? Is it just because they haven't fully added my case details on to their system yet? How long should I wait before I try to contact them about this? Thanks in advance
  8. My fiancée works and lives currently in Finland, very close to Russia. I’m wondering if it’s better for her to apply at the Helsinki embassy instead of Moscow? Any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated. also how does the Helsinki embassy work as far as scheduling the interview? Do I schedule it myself after the NOA2? Does the recipient and beneficiary both get notified that they can schedule the interview? Any details are greatly appreciated!!!
